  1. I'd probably agree if the Jazz actually used Jazz colors. Having 3 uniforms that are black and highlighter yellow, while using the tagline "Purple is back" still makes absolutely no sense to me. If the Cavs uniforms were something like hot pink and green then I'd group them together with the Jazz.
  2. The Cavs gold isn't nearly as metallic as they claimed and the set is just way too bland. As expected the trim striping is completely invisible. It's not a bad set, but not a good one either. Just "meh"...
  3. This is confirmed. These really do nothing for me. I had a bit of hope that the team scraped them due to mixed reviews. Maybe after Sunday they will be gone forever. The all-white throwbacks or an orange alternate would be way better.
  4. I will say that I never liked the giant white circle, but it feels like it's missing something. Couldn't they have just left the inside white like this?
  5. New Orleans would look so much better with traditional stripes, instead of the Seahawks knockoff patterned sticker. Makes no sense with the rest of the uniform and looks completely out of place.
  6. When anyone thinks of a tiger, the first thought is orange and black with stripes. When people think of zebras, it's white and black. Regardless of what color variations can be found in the wild. This would be like the Arizona Cardinals coming out dressed head to toe in a tan/gold color. Would anyone be okay with that? I mean Cardinals can be colors other than red, why not? The Bengals look terrible. It's just a lazy excuse to go "IcY wHiTe"
  7. I love when fans and media members try to defend their team's awful design choices. Just from two tweets this guy seems arrogant and is basically saying everyone else is wrong for not liking the uniforms. We all expected these uniforms to look bad on actual players and they do. Take the blinders off and try to have an unbiased opinion.
  8. Gay's pants are so extremely breaking the rule that they couldn't really ignore it. I think they let it slide if it's a little bit above the knee. But when the pants are halfway up your thigh that's pretty ridiculous. Could part of the fine be for not wearing padding as well or that not required for all players?
  9. Is it just me or does VT seem to get upset every year by either a G5 or FCS program? Feel like it happens to them more than anyone.
  10. Not only does it look horrible, it literally puts the player at a disadvantage. Seems like just yesterday Nike and Adidas would brag about their uniforms being .00005% lighter and tighter. Now some players look like they are wearing skirts. It's even made its way into madden.
  11. I definitely thought it was a wolf at first too. I do like that they tried something different though. So many forward facing owl logos look way too similar.
  12. The NFL absolutely only cares about public perception and protecting the big market teams. Myles Garrett took one swing at a guy who called him the n-word, and people wanted him kicked out of the league because it happened on national TV. Aaron Donald took multiple swings and the incident is already being brushed off. The national media is joking around about it, sharing memes and just playing it off like a heated practice. Say what you want about the Watson suspension, but if he played in LA, NY or even Dallas, he'd only be out 4 games max.
  13. From a distance the Cardinals almost look like the Falcons throwbacks. So much black and white. The worst part is the helmet logo is practically unrecognizable from a distance. Just looks like a dark red blob on a glossy black helmet. Could have at least kept the white stroke around the cardinal logo or gone with red helmets.
  14. Wish they would have gone with non-metallic helmet stripes/facemask. There's just too much shine going on in that helmet. The purple on the rest of the uniform looks to have more of a matte non-glossy finish. It would have created a nice contrast in textures.
  15. Not a good couple of days for Adidas. ...and people here are afraid that Nike might get the NHL contract. Okay then.
  16. Why wouldn't the Giants wear their navy helmets with the white throwbacks too? I'd assume that would be historically accurate. Is there a rule saying the alternate helmet can only be worn with one alternate uniform and not two?
  17. It's lame and kind of unfair to other cities that could definitely support an AHL team. The NBA G-League is even more guilty of this (12 teams basically in the same city or metro of their parent club. Do teams in these leagues care more about convenience than attendance and fan support? I'm still a bit salty that the Erie Blades only stuck around for one season in the AHL in the 80s and the Erie Bayhawks had decent attendance but kept getting dumped by their NBA affiliates and no longer exist. Now we're just stuck with the OHL and AA baseball. Neither really interest me anymore.
  18. My favorites are when they use Back in Black and it's a school that has never worn black before or Ice Cold when it's a school in like Texas or Arizona. I don't mind white over white. I do dislike adding a white helmet just to go stormtropper, like the Bengals have done. It's unnecessary. Unless a team adds a white helmet to make a throwback historically accurate.
  19. The "our team is so " reaction to all black uniforms is hilarious. Both from fans and players. Congratulations on looking like 1/3 of the NFL. All-white is just as bad. The question is does your corny social media team want to market it as "back in black", "the dark side", "icy white" or "clean"?
  20. Nike has worked with the NFL since 2012 and we're yet to see any "city" unforms or crazy alternates. The most extreme thing that's happened was the addition of Color Rush uniforms. Which, to me is basically just the football equivalent of Reverse Retros. I think there's this huge misconception here that Nike always has unrestricted creative control over entire leagues. If the Leafs want black jerseys or if the Devils want a Jersey jersey, the manufacturer will give them what they want.
  21. Browns are deciding between 4 field designs. 2 have variations of the elf logo at midfield. The other two have it in the endzones. Great move. Now make one of the the primary logo and ditch the helmet. My pick would be the running elf.
  22. Nike has only been involved in designing 1 of the 15? new alternate helmets and it's the Commanders black lid. The Celtics have had black and even gray in the uniforms since the Adidas days. The irony is that Adidas literally made NBA teams wear jerseys with sleeves, tire tread patterned super tight football jerseys, and an asymmetrical navy/gold helmet for Notre Dame. Reebok forced most of the NHL into templated edge jerseys with random colored panels and unnecessary piping. But people are are afraid that Nike is going to ruin the NHL. Hmm okay.
  23. Everything they make is horrible quality, ugly generic designs and somehow it's just as expensive as anything made by a big name company. Not to mention they created a monopoly and have complete control over all major sports fan shops. Seems like over 90% of everything on NHL shop website is made by them.
