  1. I dig it a lot. It reminds me of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and if they pair it with blue shorts I think it'll make for a really nice look. I like it a lot more than our current clash kit, anyway.
  2. Absolutely tragic that the Marlins didn't match the cap to the black alt. A blue cap to match the blue alt would go crazy.
  3. This article implies that this isn't the first theme. https://www.jayski.com/2024/01/25/darlington-raceway-selects-grassroots-racing-theme-for-official-throwback-weekend-of-nascar-may-10-12/ It acts as a "suggestion", not a requirement, but it's cool nonetheless.
  4. I heard that the "theme" for Throwback Week this year is drivers' pre-NASCAR racing history. Obviously not every team is gonna stick to that theme but it should make for some fun throwbacks.
  5. You can see the silver blocks in this example:
  6. Turns out the reason the Gragson car looks like that is because that's what Rush's current trucks look like. So blame the sponsor on this one. That RFK Consumer Cellular car is absolutely amazing. Honestly, all of their schemes look fantastic. Am I becoming an RFK fan?
  7. I have to push back on these two. I've become a fan recently of adding detail when possible and both of these are great ways of doing so. Hanger effects are a way to add just another touch to jerseys and as you said, they won't be seen on the ice, so there's no issue there. Sublimated striping patterns can add a rich texture to jerseys without going overboard. I agree that Calgary's alt isn't really using it well, but Vancouver's and alt and especially San Jose's current set look great.
  8. Great to see you again! It's been a while since I commented so let me catch up. SD: I love the metallic gold. Between the two logos I think I prefer the version without the anchor, I really like the monogram and as you mentioned the Lakers also use an anchor in their logo. The laurels on the collar is such a fun touch. Hockey: Those Arizona jerseys are fantastic. A burst of color and the pattern translates expertly to the sleeves and hem. The others look amazing as well, that NY cream alt is something else entirely. The only change I'd make is that almost 100% of the time in hockey, the sock color should match the jersey color. The cream pants with Minnesota's green set is also something I personally would avoid. Other than that these are great, I'd love to see your takes on more hockey stuff! Scorebug: Looks great! I like both the linear and condensed versions. MIA: Excellent rendering of the palm tree. I've always had trouble with those things and you've pulled it off expertly. CHI: I like the new look! It's a really classy set. Love the new municipal device mark as well. I think there's a bit of a discrepancy between the shades of navy being used between logos - I prefer the slightly less saturated shade in the municipal mark personally. The uniforms are stellar. SA: I loved the Longhorn Steakhouse redesign you made so I'm happy to see it being reused here! The jerseys still look great, no notes here! DET: Oh, I love that script. As a selfish request I'd love to see a Detroit version of it make its way to a helmet. The number font is amazing as well. Nice job! Atlantic Division: I remember reading that basically as soon as it came out on Behance! I love the in-depth look at each team and I'm excited to see the rest of the NAFA in that form. Keep it up, your work has been top-notch and it's been so much fun seeing you evolve as a designer over the course of this project!
  9. That Chastain Busch Light car is amazing. The mountains on the front bumper is so nice.
  10. The only difference is that the Rams designated the white uniforms as their away jerseys the next season, maybe that influenced the NFL to allow it?
  11. Thinking about teams that have had four different-colored pants at the same time (so, not counting same-colored pants with different stripes as separate pants): - Panthers, 2015-17, 2023-present; white, silver, black, blue - Lions, 2021-present; silver, dark silver (color rush), white, blue - Chargers, 2020-present; white, gold, royal blue, navy blue - Rams, 2009-11; white, navy blue, Vegas gold, athletic gold - Saints, 2016, 2022-present; Vegas gold, black, white, old gold - Eagles, 2023-present; white, midnight green, black, silver - Seahawks, 2016-present; white, navy, wolf gray, action green, throwback silver (2023-present) - Washington, 2018; burgundy, gold, white, tan There's really not many teams that can use four different colors - like half of these are the teams using throwbacks as well. The one team that surprised me was Jacksonville - I thought they had teal pants with their previous set but it turns out they did not. The season the Ravens introduced the gold pants, they didn't have purple pants. Personally I think four pants is too many for any team with one exception. I'd like to see the Panthers drop silver altogether, the Lions drop their white pants, the Eagles' black, etc. The only team I see it working for is Seattle. I like navy, gray, and white pants for their modern set, and then combined with the throwbacks, that makes four sets.
  12. I really like the white 9 car. It's actually pearlescent and will be run under the lights at the Clash. I think it'll look fantastic and I much prefer something like that to the other all-black "night mode" cars that have run at night. The new United Rentals 41 is also great. I love the inclusion of orange.
  13. That would be fantastic - it seems like exactly what the Seahawks should do... which is why I doubt it'll actually happen.
  14. I prefer the new number placement and I've always hated contingency sponsors. They make the car way too busy and I prefer the bold, clean look of the modern Gen 7s.
  15. Couple new schemes were revealed over the past few days: Kaulig's 16 car returns to an "all-star" car after a disappointing year for AJ Allmendinger, who will drive the 16 full-time in Xfinity. Celsius has a new scheme which will debut at Daytona. Meanwhile, DeWalt will sport a slightly new look on Christopher Bell's 20 car. Stewart-Haas has unveiled a couple new schemes as well. "Cold Custard" will become real as Andy's Frozen Custard will sponsor the 00 Xfinity car for three races. We got our first Cup scheme from SHR as well. SunnyD will stick around on the 4 to sponsor the new driver, Josh Berry. Life isn't all sunny for SHR as they lost 8(!) sponsors in the offseason: Busch Light (to Ross Chastain), Gearwrench, Go Bowling, Hunt Brothers Pizza (to Joey Logano), Magical Vacational Planner, Pristine Auction, Rheem (continuing to sponsor Christopher Bell), and Smithfield. We also got Austin Dillon's new Bass Pro Shops No. 3, continuing the olive green, orange, and camo look first seen last year.
  16. I like it. A nice simplification of the old logo, still recognizable, and I bet it will look great on cars as most of these recent auto badge updates have.
  17. They've played in Anaheim since Angel Stadium opened in 1966. By the end of the decade they had been in Anaheim for just as long as LA proper and by now they've played in Orange County for ten times longer than they ever did in Los Angeles.
  18. It's a petty thing, but it annoys me to no end when a team is forced to alter their design because of a template change. It happened to plenty of NFL teams (including my favorite team, the Panthers), and now it's affecting baseball (including my favorite team, the Orioles). Unacceptable for Nike to not be able to accommodate even some the most basic of design elements, uneven stripe widths and sleeve piping off the cuff. This new template is an embarrassment.
  19. The Panthers may not have played great but they looked great. I'd love to see this look with a blue helmet.
  20. The new Axalta and Raptor schemes reek of OSS trickery. The only redeeming Hendrick primary so far has been the 48. Long gone are the days of iconic schemes on Hendrick cars. It's just sad.
  21. Alright let's get started on new paint schemes for this year: RFK Racing RFK Racing announced Stage 60, a new open car, similar to Trackhouse's Project 91 or 23XI's 67 car. The first race of the new team will be at the Daytona 500, driven by David Ragan, sponsored by Build Submarines. The primary Fastenal 17 car and the Fastenal Body Guard 6 car have been revealed as well. Body Guard will sponsor the 6 at the spring Martinsville race and Indianapolis. Hendrick Motorsports The 9 car has a new NAPA scheme this year. The Liberty University 24 car is mostly the same as last year. The Ally 48 got a new look, designed by Sean Bull, known for designing F1 liveries such as for Red Bull and Alpine. Surprising no one, Kyle Larson's Hendrick Cars 5 car will look essentially the same. For the Coca-Cola 600, he'll run a special livery with McLaren's papaya as he teams up with the McLaren Arrow IndyCar team to run what's been dubbed the "Hendrick 1100". He'll be attempting both the Indy 500 and the Coke 600, a feat completed only by Tony Stewart in 2001. Trackhouse Moose Fraternity will be back on Ross Chastain's 1 car. The team gains Anheuser-Busch from Stewart-Haas Racing, but loses Advent Health as they no longer had the inventory to offer. Legacy Motor Club As Legacy MC makes the move to Toyota for 2024, they also gain Advent Health, with our first look coming at the tests being run at Phoenix on the 6th. These are all the schemes that have been revealed so far to my knowledge. I'm looking forward to new schemes on the new bodies.
  22. The one thing that most folks miss about color v color for USC-UCLA is that both teams used to share LA Memorial Coliseum - that's why they both wore their home uniforms, because it was a home game for both teams. It doesn't hold the same weight when that history isn't behind it.
  23. I think it's a shame to not see that fantastic logo on the side of the helmets. Set looks amazing otherwise.
  24. As long as the buckets match the pants, colored helmets on the road is an excellent look. I hope every team makes the shift.
  25. It's funny you say this because it actually does the opposite for me. I recognize I'm probably in the minority on this, but I feel no particular identification with the region of "Carolina". I do feel slightly more strongly for the state of North Carolina, but I feel very strongly for the city of Charlotte. I know I'm not really the target demo, but home markets do draw me in, especially if Charlotte has a team. I don't care for the "legacy" of the Chaos LC brand, I'd rather have a Charlotte-specific team. The NLL has the PLL beat on this one, at least, to me.
