  1. The issue the Lions have right now is their QB is Jared Goff and we all suspect that he will come crashing down to Earth big time sometime in 2022 after playing really well in his last five starts. His backups are awful too. Why is Tim Boyle still in the league? His numbers in college were terrible yet he still gets chances. David Blough is also quite mediocre. Mike Florio says that the Lions would be a good fit for Baker Mayfield because his personality meshes well with Dan Campbell.
  2. They took a two year hiatus. That probably won't happen again for them.
  3. So none of the stadiums in 2026 will be white elephants after the event ends. Essentially, 2 LigaMX stadiums, 2 MLS Stadiums and 11 NFL stadiums.
  4. Northern California might not be a location marker in the AL for long.
  5. Most countries after a World Cup: "so what the hell are we going to do with these stadiums?" USA after a World Cup: "Okay NFL. you guys can have your stadiums back." We know what will happen to the stadiums that will host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but what will happen to the 2022 stadiums after it ends? Has Russia even used all of the stadiums from 2018? Or Brazil from 2014? This stuff fascinates me more than the games (although the games themselves do interest me), what happens to the facilities after events like a World Cup and Olympics are over? I am moreso fascinated by the fate of these venues in 2022 than I am in 2026.
  6. So one of the members of the ownership group is Mellody Hobson, the Chair of Starbucks and wife of George Lucas. She happens to be an African American Woman.
  7. There's also Robert Smith, but he's more focused on social justice than anything else. However, these might be the names the NBA is pushing for if any of their teams are going to be for sale and MJ already owns the Hornets. At one point Jay Z did own a part of the Nets. The Trailblazers may not be the only NBA team for sale in the next few years (probably to Phil Knight and one of the Dodgers owners). It will be interesting to see how much longer Gayle Benson owns the Saints and Pelicans,
  8. Nope. He should rant about it. The other day he praised the NBA for having half of their head coaches being African American, although he wants more African Americans in the front office and ownership in the NBA.
  9. Stephen A Smith to go on an epic rant about no black owners in the NFL soon.
  10. Not being taken in round one could be a good thing for Desmond Ridder, Malik Willis, Matt Corral and Sam Howell. First, the Falcons, Titans, Panthers and Commanders don't have to play them right away and they can sit for a while. Second, all four are in right situations for their NFL careers. Out of the four, I think Ridder and Corral will get a few starts in 2022 because the QB's ahead of them (Marcus Mariota in Atlanta and Sam Darnold in Carolina) are terrible. I can't see Howell playing at all as a rookie, despite the fact that Carson Wentz and Taylor Heineke are mediocre. Ryan Tannehill is good, but if that playoff game against the Bengals is a sign of things to come, we might see Willis get a few starts in 2022, unless for some reason they play Logan Woodside. With the QB Class of 2023 reportedly very deep, the 2023 offseason at the QB position might be even more interesting than in 2022. I don't see both TB12 and AR12 retiring, as I expect either one of them or both will continue playing. No way that Rodgers retires in the same offseason Brady does, because I can't see Rodgers Hall of Fame induction being overshadowed by Brady. Brady will be a free agent in 2023, but so are Baker Mayfield, Gardner Minshew and Jimmy G and most notably: Lamar Jackson. There's not a chance I don't think the Ravens let Lamar leave.
  11. The team isn't going to fold because I don't think the NHLPA is going to allow that to happen.
  12. It was only hearsay from a reporter in St. Louis.
  13. So Wilson has learned nothing as an assistant for 6 years under Mike Tomlin from the looks of it. A few weeks, ago the announcers mentioned that Wilson calls Tomlin for advice. Tomlin would never do anything like that. Tomlin isn't going to bench Mitch Trubisky due to bad body language. He'll bench Trubisky if he plays bad (which is likely). And then he's not going to replace Trubisky with a QB they signed a few days prior who has no knowledge of the playbook. Instead it will be Kenny Pickett. Also, Kevin Sumlin showed why he's a mediocre coach as well.
  14. I think the ownership group (RedBird Capital, Dani Garcia and the Rock) has confidence they would play at Allegiant. Sam Boyd Stadium still exists, but it's turned into an abandoned stadium, with the owner of the stadium (UNLV) not sure what to do with it next. 15. if the XFL is successful (ie lasting two years), I could see them expanding. They don't plan on being in California and the USFL isn't in California and if the XFL does expand and decides to add a team in the West and in the East, I could see them putting a team in Phoenix if they don't want California. Now the AAF did have a team in Arizona, but they placed a team in Sun Devil Stadium. I would think that the current XFL ownership would want to play in Glendale, where the Cardinals play.
  16. Maybe him and Diana Russini, who I think covered the XFL 2.0 a bit two years ago. That might be it, because I can't see any of the other ESPN NFL folks wanting to talk about the XFL.
