  1. It currently only seats 7,200 but 18,000 was the plan before the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the USL were sold. Now that doesn't seem to be happening. This was what was planned for Al Lang before the Rowdies were sold. This is what it looks like now:
  2. That is the last thing either of these leagues (USFL and XFL) need: to have one of their teams play in a currently active baseball stadium. Unless USF gets their on campus stadium, the only choice is Raymond James.
  3. Is that a done deal though? Last I read is that Jeffrey Vinik donated money to build it, but I haven't heard anything about it since.
  4. Tampa also has no options.
  5. The USFL will probably tarp of sections of Heinz Field as well.
  6. Now we wait for Jimmy G. As for Seattle? They will probably go with either Drew Lock or Geno Smith to secure that number one pick for CJ Stroud or Bryce Young.
  7. Big Ten adding Stanford would be adding an elite level women's basketball program, much like how adding UCLA improves men's basketball.
  8. It will be interesting to see which stadiums the 7 other teams will play once they move to actual cities.
  9. So the Texas Rangers.....are not terrible.
  10. They are not going to allow two teams to merge without getting something in return. Whether it's to move up the roster expansion from September 1st or expanding to 26-30 players to start the season and getting rid of the September 1st Roster expansion. I don't think any talks of contraction or merging of teams happens without the MLBPA getting something in return, that's all.
  11. If two teams merge, the MLBPA will want the September 1st roster expansion to be moved up, possibly after the All Star Game.
  12. it will be interesting to know what happens to March Madness and other sports once these super conferences break off from the NCAA.
  13. So if Notre Dame joins a conference, the only teams left as Independents would be Army, UMass and UConn.
  14. I highly doubt the MLBPA will allow both teams to merge.
  15. I wonder how this affects March Madness and the non-money making sports like baseball and soccer?
  16. I wouldn't mind seeing Dan Campbell bite the kneecaps of Jim Harbaugh.
  17. LA Lakers General Manager LeBron James is on the phone right now with the GM of the Nets.
  18. LAFC being at $860 million isn't surprising seeing as how they have like 1,000 owners.
  19. Is there going to be any room for two Spring league teams for Houston? A lot of people think that the second hub would be Philly, to build the Stars fanbase. The problem would be the venues. Subaru Park is packed with dates from the Philadelphia Union and it's junior team, Philadelphia Union II. Franklin Field would host the Penn Relays track and field the opening week of the USFL. That would leave the Linc. I don't know what the average attendance is for a Temple game there, but I would guess that having a second hub in Philly at the Linc would have much lower attendance for games than Temple. Also I can't see Minnesota or Indy being involved, because it seems like USFL management wants teams in original USFL cities. Boston, LA, Phoenix, Portland, Chicago, Denver, Oakland, Jacksonville, Memphis, Baltimore, San Antonio, Washington, Orlando and Tulsa are the other cities in the original USFL and if this new management wants to bring those cities back, there are going to be issues. San Antonio, Washington and Orlando are likely to be in the XFL anyways. Oakland would have no place to play. Boston would be in the same situation as Philly: where would they play? If I am the USFL, I would go after non USFL markets. If you want to go west, why not Sacramento or Santa Clara? Minnesota and Indy would be good Midwestern options.
  20. He will come on the Pat McAfee Show and be disappointed that the team didn't win, but be happy overall that he's won it 3 times.
  21. I wonder what happens to the rivalry between Sam Houston State and Stephen F. Austin once Sam becomes an FBS school?
