  1. To be fair, those 5 players are captains for a reason. They're superstars who will receive plenty of screen time. We'll see a lot of the four patch jerseys.
  2. What blue? The numbers? The stripes? Their all-white (which they almost certainly would have worn) doesn't have nearly enough blue to "break up" the red.
  3. At this point, seeing the Saints gold pants in the regular season is like seeing Bigfoot. I don't even critique how good/bad the gold pants look because I'm so shocked they're actually wearing them.
  4. I can see why @Morgan33 would think that the Stadium Series "drives the whole outdoor game concept into the ground." I agree that trying to design something for the future has its place, but it is a little weird that the NHL has made outdoor games that place. The original point of outdoor games is to celebrate hockey's origins, where games took place on frozen ponds. There's a heavy traditional feel to outdoor games, and throwbacks/fauxbacks translate perfectly to that vibe. When the Stadium Series introduces brash, loud, futuristic designs, it seems to run counter to the original purpose of playing games outdoors. I'm with Morgan on this one. Futuristic design is fine, but the Stadium Series is an odd choice of an event to showcase it at. Futuristic/nontraditional uniform matchups have happened indoors as well. See: Most All-Star Games. Also, this matchup a few weeks ago between the Kings and Leafs:
  5. Super Bowl X was still on turf. You can also tell X and XIII apart because both teams wore bicentennial patches in Super Bowl X.
  6. No matter what, LIV and LVIII will be immediately distinguishable from each other because the 49ers brought back their third sleeve stripe.
  7. The black jersey is a great fashion jersey for fans to purchase and wear. But wearing it on the field was one of the worst decisions in franchise history, epitomizing that dark era of 49ers football.
  8. The Hartford Wolf Pack just released a throwback jersey, although they did so in a horrible reveal video where you don't really get to see the jersey until about the 2:40 mark.
  9. I'm so glad that the Lions' all white ends its run with a historic collapse and brutal loss. Maybe it'll convince them not to include that in the new set.
  10. "Back" in this case means back to the conference title game. Yes, they've had some bad luck, but it just goes to show how hard it is to get back to that point, how much has to go right to reach that point.
  11. Even if shiny pants become available again in the future, I can't see the Niners actually going for them. They've only ever experienced success in the khaki pants look (pre-1996 and since 2009).
  12. That was the most insane game I've watched in my life. I'm so hyped right now.
  13. Honestly I wish more teams would do what the Devils did in 2014 and say screw your gimmick, we're just gonna wear a throwback in our Stadium Series game.
  14. Yeah, I wasn't able to tell at first that the jersey was cream. You're probably right.
  15. True, but I'm pretty sure they usually try to make use of the latest version of each team's wordmark.
  16. At least the Eagles' pants have stripes. The lack of stripes is the real reason those Lions white pants are a crime against humanity.
  17. This Stadium Series jersey somehow isn't even the lowest effort Islanders jersey of the last few years
  18. That's not a cream base, as far as I can tell.
  19. Oversized striping and TV numbers, massive diagonal letters that spell out an abbreviation rather than the team name. All elements that toally belong more on a Winter Classic jersey than a Stadium Series jersey.
  20. Huh, didn't know that. I assumed it was an alternate because that's the only time they ever wore that jersey in the playoffs.
  21. Found a picture of the Flyers uniform with a player actually wearing it. Seems to confirm black pants, and, strangely, black helmets. I assumed the Devils would be in black helmets, and under current rules, the Flyers wouldn't be able to. Maybe they got an exception from the league to do so
