  1. No, Super Bowl LIII would've been infinitely better if they actually played it instead of using it as a transition to dogass Sicko Mode.
  2. I've actually come around a lot on the Rangers SS jersey. The more I look at it, the more I love it. I think what works about it is that the Rangers finally released a special jersey that doesn't have any navy blue. That's always been a pet peeve of mine with any special Rangers design -- the jersey ends up looking too dark. It's so refreshing to see a design without navy blue. I'm not kidding -- Every alternate/special Rangers jersey ends up using navy blue (the second RR had navy blue trim):
  3. More footage of the photoshoots shows Nick Bosa not wearing any socks, which I doubt he'll do for the actual game (the fine for the Super Bowl is probably some ungodly amount). So maybe the photoshoots aren't 100% indicative of what we'll see on gameday?
  4. Read somewhere that the Chiefs logo was originally based on the Niners logo
  5. For the Islanders I'd be shocked to see anything other than nondescript navy helmet, pants, and gloves. Helmet should have big Islanders logo in navy on one side, and the player number on the other.
  6. Thanks for the info. By the way, love the site, thanks so much for maintaining it!
  7. Rangers, Devils, and Flyers helmet/pants/socks for the Stadium Series according to nhluniforms.com. They haven't posted any gear for the Islanders yet. I know the Flyers revealed the full uniform in their initial announcement, but did I miss the Rangers and Devils doing the same?
  8. Their initial Twitter announcement has him in regular gear, although their profile picture has him in throwback gear.
  9. Pitch framing in baseball does annoy me, yes. I don't watch soccer or basketball.
  10. It's true, on every single incompletion, every receiver in the NFL makes that gesture towards the refs. You then cut to replay and see the cleanest deflection of all time. That combined with Nick Sirianni admitting to fishing for a PI call is disgusting. I get penalties need to be enforced, but your rule system is broken when people automatically assume every pass breakup is a flag and start gaming the system to draw more flags.
  11. It's a shame that the Colts weren't the home team for that game. Inverse would've looked even better in my opinion. \
  12. From the Athletic. Saloon font will be in gold.
  13. I've seen it enforced, though not consistently. Sometimes, the refs will hit you with an unsportsmanlike. But in December, the Rangers and Kings played a game that got chippy towards the end. Both Kevin Fiala on the Kings and Mika Zibanejad on the Rangers (who is an alternate captain but was not wearing the "A" in that game) got game misconducts in the third period for complaining to the refs.
  14. Purdy wore red socks for that one, but he's primarily gone with white socks this season. The only other time I can think of him wearing red socks with the road jersey was Week 1.
  15. Captain's patch on the Rangers Stadium Series jersey looks bizarre. Why didn't they make it dropshadow??
  16. That Bears game also features at the start of this Jon Bois masterpiece. That's how I know about it.
  17. Blame their 2019 playoff run in the navy alt for that
  18. Sure looks like it to me. In hockey, the C on the chest is a symbol of leadership, as the player who your teammates can trust when the team needs motivation or a spark. Yes, a true leader can lead whether or not there's a physical patch on his jersey, but it is part of hockey tradition. Also, the captain (or alternate captain if the captain is off the ice or if there is no captain) is the only player allowed to speak to the refs to protest or clarify a call.
  19. Looks like most, if not all, of the Niners are gonna be going with white socks. At least we might get some uniformity.
  20. I agree that there can only be one captain. If you can't name one person to wear the C on their chest for all 82 games, then nobody can.
  21. TIL that being a 49ers fan in this upcoming Super Bowl makes me a conspiracy theorist.
  22. I was with you until you attacked the hockey patches. Wearing the C on your chest as a hockey player is woven into hockey tradition and has been part of the game forever. I agree in the other sports the captaincy seems more ceremonial than anything, but still holds importance on a hockey team.
  23. Huh, I stand corrected. I never noticed there was a difference.
  24. Those purple pants were originally part of the Ravens' Color Rush. That situation is more along the lines of the Eagles and Jets taking the black pants from their Color Rush uniforms and wearing them with white jerseys.
  25. To add on, the Browns didn't have orange pants in the original reveal of their current uniforms. It's since become the signature look of the current set.
