  1. The Detroit Tiger legend Norm Cash started his career with the Chicago White Sox.
  2. The wrongest of all wrong uniforms: Wendel Clark in the "Fisherman" New York Islanders set.
  3. The face of the Angels franchise in the 21st century, Jered Weaver, had a very short stay with the Padres before quietly hanging them up last year.
  4. To me, Willie Stargell (pictured here clean-shaven!) will be more associated with both of the Pirates' double-knit pullover jersey/beltless trouser combo sets of the 1970s and 80s (as he spent much of his career wearing them from 1970-82), than the traditional vest set pictured here (he spent his first 8 seasons, 1962-70 wearing them).
  5. The great Redskin running back Brian Mitchell played for three of the four NFC East teams (including the 'Skins). Here he is as an Eagle..... ...and as a Giant.
  6. And Boog wore this set during his tenure with the Indians.
  7. The fearsome Steelers linebacker Greg Lloyd finished out his career in a Carolina Panther uniform in 1998.
  8. Speaking of Roberto Luongo, presstart66, regarding his Vancouver Canucks tenure: This is his right Vancouver uniform. And here's his "wrong" one, which he wore only during his first season there.
  9. Brad van Pelt, best known for being a New York Giants, played with two more teams in the mid-1980s: Two with the Raiders (he's #91 here).... and one with the Browns. I can't seem to track down a pic of van Pelt as a Brown.
  10. The late Brad van Pelt, while best known for his years with the Giants, spent the latter part wearing the LT/Phil Simms era-uniforms. This is his "wrong" uniform for his "right" team here. SIDENOTE: The reason he wore #10 while with the Giants, despite the institution of a player numbering system set up by the NFL in his rookie year of 1973, was because he was the team's backup kicker that year.
  11. The position of offensive lineman in football is not the most glamorous. With that said, this is Stan Brock, New Orleans Saint offensive tackle extraordinaire, playing for the San Diego Chargers (he appeared with them Super Bowl XXIX).
  12. As I posted in the "Players on the "RIGHT" Team, but "WRONG" Uniform" thread, today is Kent Tekulve's birthday. Here he his as a Philadelphia Phillie. And here he is in his last year as a Cincinnati Red. (Not pictured: The fact he wore #43 with the Reds.)
  13. Today is this guy's birthday. This is his "wrong" uniform for the Pirates, his "right" team; he only spent the first three seasons wearing the first iteration of the Pirates' double-knit set. (And also note the wrong number as well- #50 instead of #27!)
  14. Mattias Öhlund spent the last two years of his Canucks tenure wearing the Reebok Edge-style Canuck uniforms with the retro color scheme.
  15. The great base-stealing artist (before Rickey Henderson) Lou Brock was a coach for the Montreal Expos in 1993.
  16. The super Buffalo Bills LB of the 1980s, Fred Smerlas, played out his last few years with the 49ers.... ....and the Patriots.
  17. I read somewhere that the reason for the differing blue was because the helmet dyes could not emulate the royal blue on the jerseys of both teams.
  18. Shawn Alexander spent his first two seasons in the 'classic' Seahawks getup.
  19. A two-fer: Bud Harrelson, the only Met to take part in both of their World Series championships (1969 as a player, 1986 as a coach), in the uniform of the Philadelphia Phillies. And here he is as a Texas Ranger.
  20. The only two-time Heisman winner, Archie Griffin, in his "wrong uniform": He spent the last two years of his pro career in the "tiger-stripe" Bengals set (he's more associated with the more plainer looking set); he appeared in Super Bowl XVI wearing that very uniform pictured.
  21. Pay attention to the guy on the left, who is Keith Hernandez (and yes, I know he won World Series titles with both the Cardinals and Mets); this is him in 1972, wearing the 'old-style' Cardinal uniform that had been ditched by the team after 1970, two years before this pic was taken (also note he is minus his famous mustache; by the time Hernandez played his first Major League game in '74, they had gone to their second iteration of their beltless pants/pullover jersey combo; the guy on the right is Marc Hill).
  22. ^ Although Seaver did spend one season wearing the 'racing-stripe' Mets uniform in his short-lived return to the Mets in its first season in 1983.
  23. The great Cardinals Bob Gibson in his 'right' uniform and the right team (the traditional style w/a buttoned jersey and belted trousers). But.... This? The beltless pants/pullover jersey combo he wore in the last five years of his career? Not so much.
