  1. Another one: Longtime Denver Broncos defensive back Tyrone Braxton played one season in Miami.
  2. The legendary Minnesota Viking defensive end Carl Eller wrapped up his career in 1979 for the young Seattle Seahawks.
  3. Andre Tippett, New England Patriot LB extraordinaire in the 1980s, spent his last year of his career in the first-generation 'Flying Elvis' style uniforms.
  4. My previous post above also applies to Jose Canseco; he spent his first season (including his brief 1985 debut stint that September) in that same A's uniform set.
  5. Mark McGwire made his debut relatively late in the 1986 season, when the A's still wore the beltless pants/pullover jersey combo. They would change into what is more-or-less still their current look the next year.
  6. ^ As a matter of fact, in their last year as the Tennessee Oilers, the team wore all-white for all games.
  7. -vs- Again, no game action pics, but these two uniform sets met just once in 1986 (last year for that Dolphins set, before they added the Dolphin logo on the sleeves, and the first year for that Saints set, w/ the Louisiana state insignia on the sleeves).
  8. -vs- : #1: This is the only time the black-accented New York Jets met the 'classic' Vikings getup in 1994.... #2: The above video features those same black-accented Jets (last year for that look) meeting the second year of the 'second-generation' Vikings three years later, in 1997.
  9. It's better than nothing, but that's Tim McCarver as a Red Sock(?) on the right; next to him is Joe Torre.
  10. Tony Eason, Patriots QB extraordinaire of the 1980s, spent his rookie year wearing the 1970s-era Pats uniforms before they went to the UCLA-striped jerseys.
  11. Who amongst us can forget Boston Red Sox legend Tony Perez?
  12. -vs- No in-game pics, but these two uniform sets met once, in 1985 (first year of that set for the Eagles, last year for this Saints set).
  13. From 1997, the only time the "2nd-generation" Vikings (introduced in 1996) met the "Big Flying Elvis" shouldered Patriots. The Patriots would turn to their current look when the two teams next met in 2000.
  14. The final week of the 1999 NFL regular season (played January 3, 2000) featured the lone matchup between the 'huge-shoulder' Flying Elvis Patriots and the current 'raven head' helmet Ravens (although the team changed its jersey sleeve patches the next year).
  15. Going north of the border again; that is Dan Ferrone, who was the anchor of the Toronto Argonauts offensive line during the 1980s and early 1990s; he spent one season, however, in the uniform of the Calgary Stampeders in 1989.
  16. Gizmo Williams was mentioned in the "Players in the 'Wrong' Uniforms" thread, but here he is again, with his only 'wrong' uniform for the right team: The 'modern' style Eskimos (he's more associated with the 1980s set with the 'EE' monogram on the sleeves).
  17. Before embarking on his legendary career with the BC Lions, Geroy Simon was a Winnipeg Blue Bomber.
  18. I know I post a lot of obscure posts about the CFL here, but that is Ron Lancaster in the uniform of the Eastern Riders of the CFL, the now-defunct Ottawa Rough Riders. He started his career there in 1960 (he actually won a Grey Cup title as a rookie with them that year) and was traded in 1963 to the Western Riders, the still-operational Saskatchewan Roughriders, and embarked on his legendary career from there.
  19. http://cache1.asset-cache.net/xr/103408277.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=3&d=77BFBA49EF87892102A727B1636DE2E6E37E9FAD27A1FFE9C4C5037D7D9AE79B9E5F81B0557B7927E30A760B0D811297 That's Howard Cross, who spent his whole career with the New York Giants, and the 'retro-modern' togs of the Giants is his 'wrong' uniform (he is more synonymous with the LT/Simms era uniforms).
  20. No game action pics, but June 2003 marked the only time these two sets met up (Anaheim Angels/Montreal Expos): vs
  21. Willie "Stretch" McCovey (the namesake of AT&T Park's "McCovey Cove") finished his career from 1977-80, where it all began (and his 'right' team), the San Francisco Giants, albeit in their double-knit pullover jersey/beltless trouser combo.
  22. Dwight Gooden, aka "Dr. K" was the last remaining player on the 1986 Mets team; this is him in the 1993-94 "Dodger script"-style Mets uniform (he's more associated with the 'racing stripe' style Mets uniforms).
  23. In fairness to Mr. Stewart's Dodger tenure, he did win his first World Series title with them in 1981.
  24. He may have played for the Reds for quite a while, but this is his 'wrong' uniform for his Reds tenure, the current set:
  25. http://media.gettyimages.com/photos/washington-redskins-tight-end-frank-wycheck-during-a-game-in-1993-picture-id77260323 This is a jarring sight- future Tennessee Titans legend Frank Wycheck started his career with the Washington Redskins. He also wore #22 with them, so this is a double wrong.
