  1. Shaun Alexander in the classic Seahawks getup. Spent his first two seasons in those uniforms. A rare shot of Bengals legend Anthony Munoz sporting the Cleveland Browns-esque Bengals uniforms. He only wore it in his rookie season. You've seen Drew Bledsoe in the current Pats getup- here he is in his rookie year, in the first-generation Flying Elvis look. He is more associated with the 'huge shoulder logo' era of that team.
  2. Digging way back on these... That's Falcons great Steve Bartkowski in the early Falcons set. He's more associated with this set: -and- http://media.gettyimages.com/photos/running-back-clarence-harmon-takes-a-handoff-from-quarter-joe-of-the-picture-id78306386 When you think of Joe Theismann, you associate him with the white-on-burgundy look of the Redskins, and not with yellow pants as pictured here.
  3. Another one to add: Robin Yount is more synonymous with the 'ball-in-glove' logo set, but not the originals; also- he's clean-shaven in this one!
  4. A double play here- that's rookie Jim Thome in the Major League II Indians uniform set (same as their ones worn in the first movie, but with racing stripes, which is why I call those two uniform sets after the two Major League movies- they are synonymous with them), and wearing #6 (and not the more famous #25).
  5. Seems a bit weird to me seeing Craig Sager in a normal suit. RIP Of note about the Orlando Magic jerseys from the first season, they were made from a nylon/cotton blend, a Durene jersey if you will. http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/1988-10-22/news/0070450219_1_magic-uniforms-minear - According to this article from the Orlando Sentinel in 1988, a year before the team began play, the reason for using that material was that the pinstripes on the uniform set couldn't be reproduced on the standard nylon mesh fabric. Macgregor/Sand Knit went under towards the end of the Magic's first season, and I have seen on the internet some of those Durene jerseys replaced with Champion tagging (for their second season); those were presumably leftovers from the previous season.
  6. Of course, if Bosworth played today, that number would be allowed. Also- aah, that 'porthole' mesh jersey. Looked pretty weird, and should be left in the 1980s.
  7. http://media.gettyimages.com/photos/s-running-back-larry-csonka-of-the-new-york-giants-takes-the-hand-off-picture-id98288873 That is Larry Csonka, as a New York Giant in the late 1970s; his time there was infamous for being the intended recipient of a botched handoff in 1978 in what has become known as "The Miracle at the Meadowlands" (or, to Giant fans, "The Fumble").
  8. For you Mariner fans, here's something startling: Dan Wilson started his career with the Cincinnati Reds from 1992-93 before joining the Mariners in 1994.
  9. Speaking of CFL players, Kent Austin may be best known for his time in a Saskatchewan uniform, but here he is in is one and only season as a BC Lion in 1994 (he did win the Grey Cup with them that year).
  10. http://media.gettyimages.com/photos/oct-2001-leon-lett-of-the-denver-broncos-receives-refreshment-at-the-picture-id531330 Say what you will about Mr. Leon Lett and those two moments he's remembered for, but here he is as a Denver Bronco in 2001.
  11. ^ Sad that Tigers road uniform lasted one year (1994)- they were late to the 'racing stripe' party. (The road script on that jersey is still used today, though.) This is the versatile Minnesota Viking offensive lineman Randall McDaniel playing out the string with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2000.
  12. http://media.gettyimages.com/photos/tim-thomas-of-the-boston-bruins-clears-the-puck-in-the-first-period-picture-id72685339 Tim Thomas, a relative latecomer, spent his early years of his NHL career in that very same Bruins pre-RBK Edge set.
  13. Introducing.... Kurt Warner, Green Bay Packer, in 1994 (he's in the center of this shot, wearing #12, later made famous by Aaron Rodgers).
  14. ^ He wore it again (this time as #12, and as a one-off) in 2015 to celebrate the club's 25th anniversary.
  15. The New York Jets receiver Wesley Walker played his first year (1977) in the last year of the Joe Namath-style Jets uniforms. A Canuck great, Trevor Linden, played his rookie year in the last year the Canucks used a yellow sweater. Speaking of great Canucks, here's the first legit star the team had in Stan Smyl, playing in the 1990s-era "flying skate" uniform set.
  16. Note the black shoes he is wearing in the last pic. It seems odd seeing the Athletics in anything but white shoes....
  17. Amani Toomer spent the first few years of his career in the LT/Phil Simms Giants togs.
  18. Most people will associate the late, great Roberto Clemente with the uniform set on the left, but not on the right (however revolutionary it was then).
  19. http://media.gettyimages.com/photos/ozzie-smith-of-the-st-louis-cardinals-fields-during-an-mlb-game-ozzie-picture-id52991588?s=612x612 Some may disagree, but I associate Ozzie Smith more with the pullover jersey/beltless pants combo of the Cardinals, not the button-front/belted trouser combo.
  20. It may seem weird, but Alex Ovechkin started his career in the bronze/black/blue Caps set. How quickly we forget...
  21. Mike Modano, Dallas Stars legend, looks weird in the first Stars' RbK Edge uniform set.
  22. -and- Two for the price of one: Chris Mullin spent the early part of his career in the 'old-style' Warriors togs, and the second pic of him near the end of his career in the "Power Rangers" Warriors set.
  23. Jeff Bagwell in the 'rainbow-shoulders' Astros uniform. Tim Raines in the pinstriped Expos uniform set. And... Los Angeles Kings legend Luc Robitaille spent only two years (the last two years of this uniform set's run, as a matter of fact) in the purple and gold unis.
  24. In honor of Mr. Anthony Cavillo's induction into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, here's a two-fer: 1) He got his start during the CFL's American experiment of the mid-1990s, starting his pro career with the infamous Las Vegas Posse. From there..... 2) Once the CFL left the US, he start his Canadian career with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, before making his mark with the Montreal Alouettes.
