  1. How is it heartbreaking? They were blown out by the good teams, and squeaked by everyone else. There's something to be said about good teams knowing how to win close games, but they didn't look like they belonged on the same field in their losses. Seriously - they were blown out by PHL, DAL, GB, and beaten up by DET. Heartbreaking? LOL. More like they were who we thought they were.
  2. Believe it or not, Jalen's health isn't the Eagles biggest concern. RT Lane Johnson is going to try and play with a tear somewhere in his abdomen that requires surgery. He hasn't given up a sack in more than 2 seasons and the offense fell off considerably once he went down (albeit it coincided with Hurts' injury). The Eagles O-line is what makes everything go. There's two possible HOFers on it (one for sure, one maybe) and other great young players. Lane Johnson is the only one without a competent backup, so he has to try and gut it out. Of course the same thing happened in 2017 when Jason Peters was lost for the season, and his previously-terrible backup stepped it up, so we'll see.
  3. At least we know that the worst ever 13-win team truly was the worst ever 13-win team. So the Giants come to PHL again? Is that how it works?
  4. But some people will say "it's a part of the game! Shoulda blown the other team out if you didn't want to get screwed!" It's ridiculous. Everyone makes mistakes, but we have the technology to get it right. F-ing use it. Or just have Mike Pererra officiate from above.
  5. I don't have a horse in this race, but calls like that should 100% need to be confirmed from above. That could literally be the difference between one team advancing vs going home. I don't bet, but does the over/under come into play here if MIN ties it?
  6. LOL roughing the passer. Potential game changer. Well I guess the Giants should have known, and gone up by 10 so BS crap calls didn't change the game
  7. This is absolutely unbelievable. How the F do you not have a 4th and inches play ready to go in that situation? This is worse coaching than the Chargers last night. He's cost them all their time outs, and now he's cost them the game. Complete idiotic coaching staff.
  8. Why is Miami constantly out of time and having to burn time outs? Is Eagles-era Andy Reid their coach? Between constantly being rushed to get plays off and their overall play selection, I'm surprised that they're in the position that they're in.
  9. It aged fine. They did deserve to lose based on the sock choice. The fact that they won doesn't mean anything. Though to be fair, Big Balls Doug can dress his team however the hell he wants and I'll still pull for him.
  10. Baseball would fail so miserably in Las Vegas, just like it would in pretty much all other places that don't already have a team, and just like it is in some places that already do have a team*. Getting fans to come to 81 games is a tough task, even for many good teams - let alone a team that could be awful. People that are in Vegas from out of town might go to a Raiders game, but aren't going to sit through a slow-paced game in a mostly empty / lifeless stadium to see their baseball team. Maybe one time, but if you have limited time in LV, it's kind of a waste to see baseball. Baseball is by far the hardest sport to start up in a new city. The stadium requirements are large and expensive, and you need to find some way to attract people to 81 games. The best case scenario for the LV A's is a Marlins situation, where they simply "exist". * I'm judging "success" by attendance, atmosphere, and performance. I know that all teams actually make money - even teams like Marlins and Pirates - but I can't consider them successful by any measure that a fan would care about.
  11. Al Michaels is 78 years old. He's outlived - let alone outworked - plenty of people I know/knew. Maybe he's "cooked" as an announcer, but that's on his employers - not him. IMO, he still has an iconic voice and that automatically makes the game feel better, even if he's half asleep during it.
  12. Pederson nay have blown it. No way you let that get to 4th down by calling a pass play. Even though it's an inch, there can be a false start or all kinds of other stuff. EDIT: Glad it worked out, but that was still the wrong call on 3rd down.
  13. EDIT: Asante Samuel played with and against Tom Brady. His son hasn't, but had the schedule broke differently, could have played against Tom Brady.
  14. No, he's just not a star QB and isn't going to be one. They won't do it, but the Jags should really be thinking about what's next at QB. He's good enough to win you some games, but he's not good enough to put a team on his back. He seems like a good dude and is not bad by any means, but it's foolish to build a team around him and they'd be better off looking ahead. I like Doug Pederson and Tony Kahn (kinda) and am rooting for them despite the hokey "Duval" crap and the fact that the team shouldn't exist, but they're not going to win (or get to) a SB with Lawrence leading them.
  15. I feel that way not only with Samuel, but Jon Runyan Jr. I also watched Ed McCaffrey (mostly, I watched him snap his leg), and I'm sure a few others.
  16. Maybe I wasn't wrong about Trever Lawrence all season.
  17. So account for rules that change on the fly without warning? How the hell can a coach do that? "Here's how you tackle... but maybe not... depends on the ref, and we don't know until after you do it." Absurd take.
  18. So what you're proposing is that it's not good enough to be one-point better than the other team - you need to be what - 21? 28? 35? It's a stupid take. You play against ONE team, not two. And you only have to end up with one more point to win the game, and you should never have to adjust your game plan to account for refereeing incompetence that you know will eventually kill you (or, help you.) I don't get the tough-guy attitude of "if they really wanted to win, they'd have dominated". Nuts to that.
  19. Why on earth would he want to come back to a team that doesn't have a 1st or 2nd round pick this year, and is clearly not good enough to get better without having those picks? Even if he thinks Wilson has something left (he doesn't), it seems destined to fail.
  20. From what's being talked about here, it's practically a done deal that the Texans are going to hire Eagles DC Jonathan Gannon. He was inexplicably a finalist for the job last year but things didn't work out. While I think it's absurd to assume that coordinators that have good years will automatically make good HCs, the Eagles defensive stats can't be questioned (though he had all the talent in the world to work with.) Texans also received permission to interview Eagles OC Shane Steicken.
  21. Wow. These post game interviews have me in tears and wanting to buy (another)* Lions jersey (if their jerseys didn’t totally suck.) *I have a 90s Starter Sanders jersey in a storage box somewhere.
  22. the org has nothing to play for, but the players do. Whether it’s for future jobs, or for pride. And credit the lions coaches for getting them up for a battle against two teams on one night.
  23. I think 26’s t-shirt stretches 3”s below his jersey every quarter. It’s like a foot longer now.
  24. It had nothing to do with the play and it happens all the time. He didn’t slap him in the head, didn’t grab the face mask, it’s just “line play”. And they “miss” a blatant forearm to a dude’s head? Should have been two 15 yd penalties.
