  1. They should switch to white pants at half time. I wonder if there's a rule against that.
  2. According to Scorigami, there's only been 46 games with a final score of 38-7 (so not exactly rare, but definitely uncommon.) Eagles just beat the Giants in the playoffs in PHL 38-7, five years to the day that they beat the (fraud) Vikings, in the playoffs 38-7.
  3. I'd prefer a playoff in all sports where players are healthy and on top of their game. I don't thin it takes 80-something games (or 162) to figure out who the top teams are and who should qualify for the playoffs. Even NFL probably only needs 14 - certainly not 17. As a consumer, it angers the F out of me that this stuff happens and there's no refunds given. During the HR chase of 1998, a group of us went to Pittsburgh to see Cardinals vs Pirates, and McGwire took the day off. We were college kids and that was a huge sum of money for us at the time, and you can imagine how pissed we were. But now I get it. We know more about the long term effects of playing these sports day-in and day-out, whether on joints, brains, or whatever - and I don't blame the players at all for wanting more days off. But the problem is that the leagues inherently contradict themselves. Pro sports only exists to get people to pay to watch, which requires players worth paying to see. However, those players are paid to win championships and sell merch, which means that they only really care about the playoffs. So I'm not sure how you fix it. There's no way to legislate playing time, no matter what threats are made. The only possible answer is to shorten seasons, but even then, the top teams that are pretty much guaranteed to make the playoffs will still take days off. Glenn Rivers actually publicly calls some games "scheduled losses". I can't believe a coach would actually say such a thing, especially with all the gambling implications. But yeah - the Sixers actually circle "scheduled losses" on their internal team calendar.
  4. Why acknowledge a nothing story? It’s not happening and there’s zero evidence that it’s being considered. It’s ridiculous. Move on.
  5. It's not worth getting worked up about. It's a non-story.
  6. Talk about bait. There's nothing of any substance in that piece, and it's extremely misleading. I don't know Mike Florio, but based on this, he's a total hack.
  7. Haven't we already seen this on a national stage?
  8. For context, on the Kelce podcast, Travis and Jason were arguing what constitutes are "real" diner. XFinity Live is hosting a large organized gathering of Giants fans, which set off a storm of people mad at Comcast, even though the complex is technically owned by some Baltimore company and "XFinity is just an advertisement... but nobody realizes that). Eagles coach Nick Siriani said he was craving Pizza Hut stuffed crust pizza and hadn't had it since he was a kid, so had a bunch delivered to the coaches office. As previously noted, Giants fans apparently dye their s blue.
  9. OK, I've been noodling on this for a few hours now and I can't figure out how. Is this some kind of riddle?
  10. I'd love for the Eagles to play the Chiefs in Germany. Would have a better chance then having to play then at Arrowhead. But that would be a prime-ratings game so I doubt they'd put it on at whatever morning time it would start.
  11. Ever since you pointed it out, I can't help but chuckle every time I look at a tough Chiefs game, because you're totally right - they're always at Arrowhead! It really does feel like they have 17 home games. I know that the scheduling is done with a formula so there's no funny business, but it's just funny how it always seems to work out that way. I'm shocked they are "hosting" an international game, because aren't those usually for loser teams that don't draw too many fans at home? Do they ever have a nationally-televised game that's on the road?
  12. What are you "just sayin"??? I genuinely don't understand the point you're trying to make.
  13. They were barely a playoff team, had a terrible second half, and I don't think that even their biggest fans consider them a true contender. So no - not frauds. Just a team that had a mediocre season and was on the right side of a couple of tight games.
  14. So the front runner to buy the Commanders is Sixers owner Josh Harris, who also owns the NJ Devils. If it happens, he’ll own teams in three rival sports cities. That’s got to be a first.
  15. When there’s an injury scene near the very end of the game like this, they should have the discretion to just end the game rather than have guys have to get up to smash against each other for the last two minutes of meaningless action.
  16. Is there a listing somewhere of which teams have sold ad space and to whom? I think I've only seen the Padres and Red Sox so far.
  17. they’re the worst 13-win team because in all of their losses they got blown out by decent teams. Had those been close then maybe they wouldn’t be looked at as the worst. But then they go out and get beat - at home - by the 6 seed. Any comparison to Patriots teams of that era is foolish, regardless of NE’s point differential. The Vikings stunk, and just about everyone knew it.
  18. Eagles are opening as a 8.5 point favorite on FanDuel. Waaaaaaay too high. If I bet, I'd take the Giants all day with that spread.
  19. It's likely true that he's hurt more than what anyone's said publicly. It's also true that the gameplan was designed for him to do the absolute bare minimum, and it was a very vanilla, preseason-like offense. It's certainly possible that he's just too limited, and in that case, the Giants have a great chance. But I'll disagree about the OL. Having to give a guy help literally changes the offense, since it's based on creating mismatches but now you have to use a TE or RB to help the RT, whereas Lane just did his thing by himself and freed up those resources to do better things.
  20. Giants at Eagles will be a Saturday game, time TBD. Also...
