  1. People advocating for Kirk Cousins absolutely blows my mind into itty bitty bloody pieces. Anyway, Nick Sirianni is back, and as expected, bent over for Howie. Brian Johnson was fired (as I’ve been advocating for since week 5) and they don’t care what Hurts thinks about it. Fangio hired for DC, which I don’t like, but whatever. Kingsbury , reich, and someone who I can’t remember are in the mix for OC. They wisely don’t want a guy that’s going to bolt for a HC job. Off topic - I’m sitting next to a tinder date, and this bro is explaining to a young-beautiful woman who clearly doesn’t care about sports, why the Sixers should trade for Halliburton, and explaining the Ben Simmons saga, and talking about how he did jiu jitsu but his adhd got in the way and mirrors freak him out so he doesn’t have any in his house, and I’m 99% sure she’s going to end her life within 5 minutes. Just thought I’d share. Back to your regularly-scheduled programming. She’s like “do you like Mitski?” And he’s like “no I did jiu jitsu”
  2. it’s irrelevant. Why pay a guy when you know the ceiling for both him and your team? You’re literally committing yourself to a certain level rather than prepping to get a true franchise guy. in the NFL, good is the enemy of great, which is the enemy of elite. Plus Cousins is a complete wack job.
  3. What good is stability if that stability is barely above a mediocre level? Either you want to try to win or you don't. If you do, then you don't want a Kirk Cousins. If you're cool with finishing with 9, 10, and occasionally 11 wins, but neve being a real threat, then sure. But I'm not sure why any franchise would strive for that. And before some dope says "some teams would kill for that" that's a dopy thing that only dopes say, because after the first 10 win season gives people hope, eventually they'll realize that they're at the ceiling. It's not good enough. I don't care if you've been 0-17 for 10 season, the goal should be to win the SB (knowing that it's not going to happen within one or maybe two seasons of change).
  4. Was reading that guy's profile. Does Michigan really name its coaching positions after people, almost like sponsors? https://mgoblue.com/staff-directory/sherrone-moore/3711 He is in his third season as the Donald Graham Offensive Line Coach and in his first year as Sanford Robertson Offensive Coordinator after two seasons as co-O.C. (2021-22).
  5. I see this all the time, like "he's some loser that paid for his checkmark", but a lot of legitimate media people do it because it allows them to make longer posts (instead of the "photo of words" post or a whole thread) and edit them. For the news reporters I follow, it's really beneficial for them. It's not just a way of posing as someone important.
  6. Lousy timing for Michigan, unless they're planning to promote from within.
  7. Yeah, that's absurd. Being a good team != being on "one of the greatest runs in sports history". It's hyperbole of hyperbole. Hyperbole and a Half, if you will.
  8. While that would be better, it's not one of their looks. Therefore, what I posted is true. 2+2=4. Say it with me: two plus two equals four.
  9. The Ravens shouldn't wear gold pants simply because they look stupid and out of place. Whether Vikings comparisons are fair or not is irrelevant.
  10. They should go straight-up Seahawks. Ecto Cooler green, navy, and silver. Their uniforms have always been "nice", but not.... inspiring. Not special. Just... nice. Time for a change. Time to make some noise. Time to brighten things up and embrace the scheme that the other outdoor Seattle teams have made nearly standard for the city. Counterpoint - I wonder what they'd look like in a Kraken-colored scheme. I think I'd still prefer Seahawks, but Kraken could be cool too.
  11. I'm also one of the weirdos that liked this look (when paired with red accessories)
  12. It sucks that Nike either cant, or is choosing not to, make heathered fabric that replicates the old flannel look. That would make the Yankees even better. As for the Dodgers, this is the best they've looked on the road since being in LA: This is a factual opinion. If you disagree with this, your opinion is not only wrong from an aesthetic perspective, but also an arithmetical one. Just as wrong as if you said that 2+2 = 5.
  13. YESSSSSSS YANKEES!!!!!!!!!! If only the Phillies would follow suit. Major upgrade!
  14. and I think this is not a good way to gauge interest. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to a minor-league stadium to watch a team that wasn't mine, just to "prove that I'd go to a MLB game". It's phrased as if it's their "job" to "prove" themselves by supporting some dreck. I think a market (not SLC, but some other one) might thrive as a Major League market without caring one bit about some temporarily-transported dumpster fire of a team. Also I've only been to SLC once (and even then, just driving through on my way to Moab) and driven through "SAC TOWN" (lol) once, so I have no idea if they'd care or go. This can only work if the MiLB stadium is located within easy transit / commute to population centers, so it'd never work on the East Coast, unless there's more situations like the old Camden Riversharks (but that was independent baseball that held hundreds, not thousands.) But, to quote the Rock, " it doesn't matter if they go". It's a train wreck dumpster fire situation one way or the other. I'm just suggesting to shield Vegas from the "before" photo, and introduce themselves as the "after" photo (and hopefully not the "very before" one!) Oh - and as for the LV Aviators selling out every game? False. They're selling around 75-80% of their roughly 8,000 stadium. Fine for MiLB, would likely remain at that level for MLB, unless they're asked to pay MLB prices (but, as we've seen by the pathetic DBacks franchise, can be like $3/game, lol.)
  15. This is patently false. Why on earth would people in LV go to an outdoor game in a non-major-league park in the summer time to watch a horrible team that they've had no previous connection to? Also, why would they even be fans for any reason other than the city name on the jersey? A team gets a grace period to endear themselves to a new location. I don't think people not showing up in Las Vegas in year one means anything about the type of market it will be. I don't know if it will or won't be any good, but that first year (maybe even two) don't indicate anything. Also, comparing a baseball relo to any other sport is not fair. Baseball has 81 home dates to fill. Eighty one. It's going to be rough - I just think it's a good strategy to spare Vegas of that roughness and get off on the right foot in a new park with a (hopefully) decent team.
  16. I don't really get it though - even if he used all his time before kneeling, there still would have been 23 seconds, so the situation is the same regardless of when he kneeled (except there'd be less time left for TB if DET missed the FG. And he could have used that TO at any time in the kneel-down process, not just 4th down. It's stupid to end a 1-score game on defense with any TOs remaining, but I don't understand why the kneel at 36 seconds changes the situation at all, given that he had the TO the whole time, and even waiting till the last second to kneel is still the same situation.
  17. If SLC gets a permanent major-league team, I'll hold a contest for the board to pick the most humiliating user name that Infrared will allow, and I'll change to that for a year. I'll also close every post with "but what do I know, I'm a flaming idiot." It makes sense for them to not play in LV during the interim period. Being awful isn't a good way to develop a fan base in a new market. Their best plan would be to settle for the least-uncomfortable out-of-market place, and then overpay and do whatever it takes to put themselves in position to be competitive on day 1 in Vegas.
  18. Did anyone catch this in real time? Didn't even cross my mind. Bowles' justification is the equivalent of "I'm hearing this for the first time".
  19. He’s got a great relationship with Jeff Lurie from when he coached here before, and they (reportedly) want someone that’s not going to leave for a HC job. Someone that can be like the HC of the defense so Sirianni has even less to think about (not sure what he even thinks about besides dumb analogies and how to taunt opposing fans).
  20. He's just the best. So hoping the retirement rumors are just rumors (but doubt it.)
  21. The Bills will be the 1:00 on CBS, the Ass Birds will now be the 1:00 on FOX. It's been a couple of years since they've had 1:00s too. 1:00s are better than SNF or MNF, but vastly inferior to 4:00s.
  22. Unreal. Wide right. Can't make it up. Half of you aren't even old enough to truly understand why that's meaningful and so painful. Wide. Right.
  23. They have the lightest gray of any team with gray pants. They're barely indistinguishable from white.
  24. It should not have been a penalty. It was called because they incorrectly said that the ball had left Mahomes' hand, which is when the rule would have come into play.
