RoughRiders99 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Hey folks,I'm one of those people who creates uniforms for all of the teams in his fantasy league! In my league, we're entering our third year next year and we'll have a new member in the league. She wanted her team to be called the Chicago Zephyrs, so this is what I came up. I would figure that the team would be nicknamed the Z's very much like the Athletics as the A's or the Orioles as the O's. I thought I'd drop it here and see what you guys think. I'm not quite sure about the cap logo itself tho. Something's off to me, I don't know what it is. Also, I feel that maybe the blue is a little too light. Our league rules require at least three uniforms: Home whites, road grays, and at least one alternate jersey (can be white, colored, vested jersey, whatever)Would love to hear your feedbacks. Thanks!! http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/100518-working-on-my-fantasy-baseball-league-update-2nd-team-socal-doles-need-ideashelp/?p=2316837
Roadrunner8ball Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I love the word mark. A solid set of uniforms.
TheStig Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I've always loved powder blue and red together. That being said, I think the home jersey would look better if the socks and undershirt were red and the wordmark had a thicker blue outline.Just my opinion, though. Great work overall
rtrich11 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Great word mark! The white and grey unis need more visible blue for cohesion as a set. cafepress.com/artbyrichards
John_KC Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Love the light blue and red as well and the way you incorporated the Chicago city flag into the logo. Not to sure about the cap logo. I immediately think of sleeping, as in catching some "Z's". lol. Maybe that's just me. How about coming up with a cool "C" instead, or if you want to stick with the "Z" maybe drop the "'s". I also agree that the home jersey undershirt should be a different color...red or white. Great job though. Your fantasy league is luck to have someone who will come up with all the designs.
kewp80 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Can't see anything too wrong with this. Fantastic wordmark! Great work! Cardinals -- Rams -- Blues -- Tigers -- Liverpool Check out my music!
GeauxColonels Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 She wanted her team to be called the Chicago Zephyrs, so this is what I came up. I would figure that the team would be nicknamed the Z's very much like the Athletics as the A's or the Orioles as the O's. Or like the New Orleans Zephyr's as the Z's......I do like the look though. That color schemes is one of my all-time favorites for sports. And the logo you've got is great. The nod to the city flag under the wordmark is well executed, IMO. What about some white socks for the home unis with blue striping to mimic the sleeves?
Concepts_SM Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Great set! Maybe add red piping down the side of the pants & change the sleeve stripes on the white jersey to red..
Saint Zephyr III Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Great set, although I would like to see a way to include a red star or two since you've done a great job of capturing the Chicagoian flag.
SuperLeafsFan Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I'd try to use the flag on a alternate hat for this, as that would look nice. Like the colours a bunch though. I think I like smilies too much!
mamiller99 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Wow, this is an awesome look! I'm a fan of the flags under the wordmark. Will you release the other teams as well? That's what- She
RoughRiders99 Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 Thanks for the feedbacks and suggestions everybody! I tried to listen to what you guys said and apply it to my new update. Some updates:- Gave the wordmarks a thicker blue outline- Made the blue a little darker to give it a more of a "primary" style color instead of an accent color- Added Chicago flag style to the socks and the sleeve piping- Made the "C" a cap logo, white cap is gone. 1
mamiller99 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 The input of the Chicago flag is beautiful. Nothing bad about this one bit. That's what- She
mbannon92 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 It looks like you darkened the blue a little bit, which helps a ton. Everything you changed is an improvement except the socks IMO. They're a little too much for me. Love the new sleeve piping though! Nike + CFL 2015 | 2015-16 NBA Concepts | Complete College Football Redesign
RoughRiders99 Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 We're actually have two new members joining my league. One of them is the Chicago Zephyrs, which you just saw above. Another one is the SoCal Doles, which will be based out of San Diego, California. But the thing is... we don't want to use a fruit theme for his set and I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas for a logo or even the color scheme. I wouldn't mind having this team having some sort of a paradise theme. I did come up with some word marks with different colors (they may seem generic now, but that's what I could come up with). If you can think of another color scheme, feel free to drop it in here! I would love to hear what you guys have to say about it! Thanks!
davidmiller5 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I think you need to revisit the hat logo. I think that from any distance it would be almost indistinguishable. As far as color, I like the orange/yellow combo.
SuperLeafsFan Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Try out the Green/Orange combo with a darker Green. I think that would look good. Agree about the Cap logo though. It does look squished together. I think I like smilies too much!
RoughRiders99 Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 I kinda agree with you about the SC cap being kind of hard to read. How could I make it clear enough without making it looking too similar to USC Trojans?
SuperLeafsFan Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 How about using the D instead from "Doles"? That would be a sharp looking cap or perhaps changing up the cursive font to another cursive font...... I think I like smilies too much!
