j'villejags
With the recent news of St. Louis actually moving back to LA, I thought I'd continue working on my old concept. I've updated the LA monogram, as well as the uniforms. This is what I had posted back in 2014 but was never able to finish what I started. http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/97167-la-rams-concept/Q: Will you bring back the old L.A. Rams uniforms? Demoff: I think the philosophy on the uniforms is a microcosm of the philosophy of the project. Yes, we have a rich tradition and history in Los Angeles. We have colors that people identify with. We have historic players. You want to carry some of that forward. But, we're also about to enter a world-class stadium that should be one of the best. … Yes, the Rams are coming back. It's not the Rams from the '60s, '70s, '80s. This is Stan's vision and Stan's stadium. We want to make sure we represent best in class in every aspect while we borrow from the Rams' legacy. When I look at the Rams' return to L.A., that's what people are excited about — it's modern NFL mixed with the team they grew up with. This quote had me thinking -- they'll try to keep it traditional, while adding some modern touches to the uniform. For my thought process -- I used navy and athletic gold, as opposed to the royal. It helps with contrast, particularly with the chrome accents on the helmet. I tried to keep the rest somewhat traditional so it wasn't too over-the-top.Here it is. I'll have away uniforms and alternates as well but wanted to get some feedback before I went forward with those. Thoughts? My NFL concept series (in progress) --ATL, CLE, NE, WAS done. Dnice
Looks pretty good, I just hope they aren't white jersey crazy in the warm climate, but other teams wear the white at home also, so I suppose we'd see a good amount of this combo.

jrcollis714
I really love the white one. That is awesome, and I like the design and helmet. With the new one, I would add the horns on the sleeves. It is such a classic look, and really makes the Rams' stuff special. After that, I would make a yellow alternate, basically just the color rush from this year. I really liked that uniform, and I feel that it would really complement the whole set that you made. Of course, the NFL has to ruin all the fun with the one helmet rule, basically killing this idea, but this really would be cool and would totally be an awesome set in LA. Favorites: Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, New York Rangers, New York Knicks, Cam Newton ND Irish Least Favorites: New York Giants, New York Mets, Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Eagles, OBJ

crazylegs
These are the uniforms that I wanted to see the Rams go to while in the Coliseum. New uniforms to come later for the new stadium. These "Coliseum" uniforms harken back to the old 50's - 60's Rams uniforms. TJSC
I love how you tried to modernize the old Rams unis, but compared to the giltzy and shiny-looking NFL unis of today, there needs to be a "wow" factor that will make this uniform stand out from the others. Overall, uniform is nice, but it is a tad bit generic.
crazylegs
Thanks TJSC. The thinking behind these uniforms is to have an alternative to the St. Louis uniforms that the Rams are apparently staying with for the next three years until the move into their new stadium in Inglewood. Kevin Demoff made it clear that they didn't want to unveil any "new" designs until then. They will still have the "horned sleeved" uniforms as an alternate to be worn a couple of games but other than that they are staying with the same old St. Louis uniforms. In my mind I personally would like to see them go back to the L.A. Rams blue & gold/yellow colors and my thinking is why not bring back versions of the old '50's - '60's uniforms? I compensated for the current abbreviated sleeve designs and took some liberties with the road version because back in the day the road uniform was all white. I also fattened up the horns and went back to the gray face mask. I know they are not flashy but I felt that they would be a good choice for the the Coliseum period only.
