They want to move back to downtown, because all of the things that were supposed to spring up around Frost Bank Center have never come to fruition. The only thing that's around it is a golf course and the Freeman Coliseum/San Antonio Rodeo complex. It's a good location if you want to get in and get out before and after games, but if you want to enjoy a bar or a club you're driving another 10-20 minutes downtown, or up the road to San Marcos and Austin. The stadium itself is still in good shape, and they just spent some cash a few years back upgrading it, so I'd be surprised if it gets completely taken out of the rotation for some level of sports. The Gunslingers would be in better shape facilities wise to move over from Freeman Coliseum, but I don't know that they'd be able to afford the move, unless the city and county cut them a break.
