My Bengals Uni edits

I started this originally in the Ugly Bengal thread, but since I got on a roll I thought I would

just post them all at once. Credit goes to Avenger for being the first to roll out his

ideas for the Bengals a long time ago. He and I have similiar theme for what they should

have done, or tweaking what they have. View mine at these links, comments appreciated.

thanks for all the feedback so far, I don't get much of a chance to do these as often as

I'd like so it's good to hear from people when I do. I plan on tackling, no pun intended, the Bills

next.

In my opinion is they just went too far with things. they added too much

all at once. this seems to be a theme recently withing sports, especially football. Teams are either way off on one end being too busy or going very retro and classic and being plain.

I approached these edits from the standpoint of stripping away all the extranesoius stuff

they did and evolving what they had last year as well as the glory days with boomer and icky.

I've loved the tiger stripes since the introduced them and I had a Ken Anderson jersey when

I was 11 (yes I am dating myself) and they went to Super Bowl XVI. I'm not a big fan of secondary logos on sleeves or pants, as the uniform has evolved, theres less room for this stuff

on the jerseys and really adss to the clutter. the number font links to their primary typeface,

not the ugly "B" the use now at the neckline. The Bengals are another example of too many

graphics that don't relate. The "B" doesn't maych the lgotype they have, the number font

doesn't match either of those, it's annoying, there's no consistency on the visual identity.

And that should coreelate to field graphics and stadium signage as wel, it should be a complete package.

actually the b matches the logotype they have. the old logotype is no longer the current one. the secondary logo is just the leaping tiger. If you look at their website, and also at the endzone when they have a home game you will see the new logotype.
