For no reason other than that I found the logos laying around, I designed these:

Let me know what you think, and if anyone has an idea for an interlocking "SD" logo for the shoulders, feel free to post it.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

To me, I think the blue you used is too weak - it's actually lighter than a powder blue, and combined with the gold and white, doesn't give the warrior logo nor the jersey any type of boldness to it. Either try a darker blue, or simply replacing the blue with red.

Also, I'd use the same numbers and text for the home and away on the alternate jersey.

Just some suggestions, I do like the concept overall, especially the design for the alt.

The FACE is really cool... original... and think that would make a GREAT logo by itself, in the same way the ottowa senator figure is, w/ an interesting shape around it.

oh, and keep the copper, but make it a DARK blue, and black...

Indeed, I love the primary logo for this concept. Wish I could say I designed it. But, I'm not artistically talented enough to design logos like the ones posted on here; I just know how to draw lines, color them in, and cut and paste. It's actually an early/rejected logo for the NFLE Berlin Thunder, for those not already in the know. Why on Earth it got rejected (other than some odd aversion toward connecting Germany with muscular shirtless guys) is beyond me.

As for the issues with the extra-light blue, I tried it with more of a powder blue, and to me, it seemed to lack the necessary contrast with the black and gold/copper. A darker navy blue would probably only wipe out the contrast even further. I understand the issue with it being "too weak" as a color, but I think it works well in tandem with the stronger black and gold/copper colors. The only place I really have a problem with the light blue is in the home sock.

Another reason why I wouldn't want to go powder or navy is because I designed this color scheme to subtly hint at, but not blatantly copy, the package of the San Diego Chargers. And since this is the sort of thing that can't really show up on a flat graphic, let the record show that the gold/copper stripes on the alternate jersey would be sewn-on dazzle material, like the black Capitals uni (which, by the way, is the only positive thing that can ever be taken from that train-wreck of a uniform.)

And one last solicitation: If anyone of you creative and artistic folks could devise an interlocking "SD" logo for the shoulders, I would be most appreciative. Thanks!

Not sure this works on that old penguins template.
