Besides, what happens if the Dirty Birds lay an egg on defense (oh wait, 56-10 ) I know, it's a hollow victory now, but still, it's fun!! That was perhaps the worst performance ever in the playoffs that the Rams team put on last night. It's not that the Falcons offense is or was unstoppable, but rather, the Rams defense just couldn't stop them. It was pitiful.And what is it gonna take for Mike Martz to realize special teams are important?I don't know how many people followed this move, but earlier in the year, Martz cut Sean Landeta (one of the best punters of all time) because he thought he was a major factor in the punt return coverage. Good call you freaking moron.Also, Jim Mora is quite lucky that he didn't have to learn the hard way that saving your guys for the next game is far more important than running up the score on your opponent.A frustrating end to a frustrating season.And just to clarify, I'm not trying to take anything away from the Falcons. I think they have as good a shot as the Eagles to get to the Super Bowl, BUT the fact that they blew out a lowly Rams team has nothing to do with it.
