GMac
Thats right the rotating names are coming to a close... and look on the bright side it can be called the Garden again...TD agrees to FleetCenter naming rights
slapshot
So now TD has the TD Waterhouse Arena in Orlando, and the TD Banknorth Center in Boston.TD bought Banknorth some time last year. It makes sense for this bank to own the name of the arena, Banknorth is the official bank of the Boston Bruins, and has been for a few years. NoHoJoe
If Bank Of America held on to the naming Rights, the Building would have been called the Bank Of America Center.
NJTank
Well besides TD Waterhouse in Orlando their is RBC Center in Raleigh so this will be the third Candian Naming Rights for a US Arena.
slapshot
It should have been the TD BankNorth Center. No one is going to call it the "TD BankNorth Garden", it's just going to be called "The Garden".Many people wanted the new building to be called the Fleet (or whatever) Garden, but the truth is, it's not the new Garden. It's an entirely different Arena, it has none of the intricacies and nooks and crannies that the Boston Garden had. Just the team logos and banners, and even those were new. And at least with "Center" in the name, no one was going to think of the Garden if the name was abbreviated. Teams played at the Garden. Teams do not play at the "Center", but at the FleetCenter. This is just going to end up being the Garden.
NJTank
Well it does not matrter what people call it in their homes it only matters to what its called on TV and in the radio and Im sure they are obligied to say the full name and thats all taht matters to them. CC97
If Bank Of America held on to the naming Rights, the Building would have been called the Bank Of America Center. Which would be more sutible for a team in Miami Beach

the admiral
I'm a Tropicana man myself. I don't care for either park for various reasons:Tropicana Field is under a roof, usually empty, and looks like a warehouse or something on the inside. The Houston Astros play at Minute Maid Park.I just can't decide!
