In a baseball scorecard, if an error has been charged to the third baseman, it would go down as "E5". Each position is designated a number in a scorecard: Pitcher: 1Catcher: 21st Baseman: 32nd Baseman: 43rd Baseman: 5Shortstop: 6Left Fielder: 7Centerfielder: 8Right Fielder: 9That also explains the meaning of a 6-4-3 double play.
