They border each other. McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket is less than 5 miles from downtown Providence and the Dunkin' Donuts Center.I'd put a team in Worcester, not Providence. That the Pawtucket Red Sox are considered Providence's team? Hell... the PawSox are considered the Triple-A home team for pretty much all of Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.Bottom line? This specific expansion idea would never fly for a variety of reasons... including the fact that an affiliated minor-league team (at any level) in Providence (or Worcester, for that matter) would violate Pawtucket's territorial claims.
