TFoA
Better question: why is that coach wearing a headset? High schools don't have coordinators in a booth somewhere, do they? We do. Many schools are starting to adapt that.
Shmitt
Better question: why is that coach wearing a headset? High schools don't have coordinators in a booth somewhere, do they? They stand on top of the press box or in the case of my alma mater, use the janitor's cherry picker and put it behind the end zone.East Brunswick's been wearing those for a few years now. Much better than what they previously wore.
FiddySicks
Better question: why is that coach wearing a headset? High schools don't have coordinators in a booth somewhere, do they? Yes they do. My high school has the advantage of having the Football field inbetween two mountains so the press box is on the side of the West mountain. Biggest problem is that because of low funding, the headsets are plopty and often lose contact. It causes a real headache when you have to send a runner up the side of a mountain to take notes back and fourth between the Coordinator and the head coach On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Jigga
I remember my HS in Maryland asked to use the Fightin' Irish logo for our school name, the Gaels. A letter was sent to Notre Dame and they refused to let a private Catholic school use the logo. So, the athletic department and those involved altered it just enough not to get in trouble and we used the logo anyway. What a great lesson to the youth of America...and we wonder why Graphic Arts is sorely undervalued and no one wants to compensate for anything...Nice... VitaminD
I don't see why this particular look is drawing attention. Every high school in my old conference ripped off a college or pro team to a certain degree (Packers, Cal, U. Florida, Ohio State, Arizona State, UGA, Florida State, Michigan State, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, Michigan). I give East Brunswick credit for being faithful to the details of the Jets' uniforms. The Jets have great uniforms with great colors, and the high school shared the colors and saw a great look they could adapt to their school. They're not making money off of it, and I'd bet the kids love the way they look in their uniforms (our unis closely resembled UGA in high school but we had black jerseys). "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

Pharos04
High schools copying colleges and pro teams is definitely not uncommon. a whole bunch of teams in my home area copied many teams. one team, the Revere Patriots took the Jets look but with a dark blue instead of green. my high school in my junior year took the Penn State look to appear more uniformed and team-like. Our rival resembled Harvard. the town of Everett looked like the 49ers but with an E instead of the SF. if a team sees it can adapt and evolve an identifyable logo to their own i say go for it. I don't see it to be an issue unless they are blatently going out of their way to completely copy a team's trademark look and not be one of their own. FiddySicks
Just to show you, this is my high school's helmet logo. Gold helmets with this logo, blue stripe down the middle, two black stripes outside of the blue one On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
