Minor Leaguer Traded for Beer

In a twist of irony, Nigel Thatch also has a career in acting. The most memorable part has got to be the part of "Leon" the selfish professional athelete (modeled after T.O.) in in Budweiser beer commercials. You might have seen some of them.

His character's slogan is "I ain't playin' unless someone is payin.'"

Fitting that he be traded for Budweiser.

Assigned the contract of RHP Nigel Thatch (Rookie) to Fullerton of the Golden Baseball League in exchange for 1 pallet (60 cases) of Budweiser beer.

Oh he's gotta be good.

You know he's Leon from the Bud ads, right?

Sorry, I don't tend to follow the acting careers of minor league baseball players

Wow, he actually played too.

Here's the article from the Schaumburg Flyers site:

And from the Fullerton Flyers, which was from cnnsi.com:

He had an ERA above 10 over 7 games, 3 of which he started. Batters hit over .400 against him with 24 hits over 12.1 innings.

Ouch.

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. Looks like the role of Leon has goen to his head a bit if he thinks he can try a Minor League Career.

He's not allowed to pursue a dream just because he starred in some commercials? How does his "character" have to do with his character?
