BJ Sands
Good for Mike Hohensee. He seems like a nice guy.(I hope Da Coach doesn't try to mooch publicity off of this.)
Fred T. Jane
[sports Purist Bleating]But a team with a losing record in the regular season shouldn't be in the playoffs![/sports Purist Bleating]Good job Chicago. They played defence to shut down teams like Philadelphia and San Jose, then they turn on the offence to beat Orlando in the Arena Bowl. Too bad Dallas couldn't beat Orlando... [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. sp0rtsguy13
[sports Purist Bleating]But a team with a losing record in the regular season shouldn't be in the playoffs![/sports Purist Bleating] Thats what I was saying even before the season started when I found out they were doing 6 from each conference. I knew there was gonna be teams that made it in with a losing record. I thought they shoulda kept it the same as last year. If the Arena League has 12 teams in it should be like pre-NBC days in which top 12 make it in and are ranked 1-12 on record. The only thing that would throw it off is if a division winner didnt have a seed 1-8 which was rare. NBC probably isnt picking up the AFL next year, and if that happens they better go back to the old format. If NBC stays they should go back to the 05 format. At least this years format wasnt as bad as 04, where divisions didnt mean anything, and the Eastern Divison champs Dragons werent even in the playoffs with a 9-7 record. Thats my vent on the Arena League playoffs format Stanley Cups 1980,1981,1982,1983World Series Titles 1955,1959,1963,1965,1981,1988 Super Bowl Titles VI,XII,XXVII,XXVIII,XXXSuper Bowl Title III
The_Admiral
Hm, Chicago won a championship. Hey, it's cloudy today. Bummer. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
GeorgesL
I'm not a big Arena Football fan, but I saw the last 21 minutes of the game. Living here in the Chicago area, the people are very loyal to their sports teams, and the Rush just gave them something more to celebrate today. I'm happy for them. The Allstate Arena, the arena they play in, is about a less-than-10-minute drive up I-290 from my house.

-Helix-
I guess that's why I didn't hear anything about the result. People around here only care AFTER they win. (Which is never.)

Werent the Preds playing in their record setting 7th Arena Bowl? Ehh, maybe im wrong. I lose interest when San Jose and Tampa Bay are done anyway. Shroinke
I note a correlation between the Rush winning Arena Bowl XX, and a certain team, from a certain town, who also won a bowl in its twentieth year...DA...RUSH
