Blue Jays 2nd Place Watch

First time since 1993 that the team finishes above 3rd, if they hang on.

Thanks for the DAP, nertz to those who flack'd me, and to be honest, this is a glimmer of hope for the Jays.

Just think: if Toronto was in the NL, we'd have the wild card by now.

With a Boston win and Toronto loss the position of 2nd place in the AL East is tied. I hate to say it, but I think Boston will get it (again), just because of how well they do against Baltimore.

Same.

3rd place again.

We'll have to see how this one turns out.

I think he means the NL Central; the Jays would be division leaders!

Game 1 tonite - Chacin vs. Mussina (Goose vs. Moose)

D'oh!

Try Wang vs Moose, Wang will be starting Game 1 for the Yankees it was announced a few days ago.

Game 1 = Jays vs. Yankees

Goose = Gustavo Chacin

We still have 2nd place, we beat the Red Sox head-to-head (again) :P

Jays hang on to win Game 2 6-5, and thus have a half-game lead on Boston.

If Boston loses tonight...the Jays clinch (2nd place)!

Last I checked they were losing 5-4.

Yes... thanks to Mike Timlin (that's for keeping the '92 World Series ball!)

The top of the banner is still in graphite. You may want to fix that.

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008
