Shroinke
Now I know statistics don't determine outcomes, but for amusment's sake, check this out:The Bears, as a team, are averaging 30.0 points per game. (1st in the NFL)The 49ers, as a team, are allowing 32.3 points per game. (32nd in the NFL)Week 8: San Francisco @ Chicago!I can't wait until the handicap comes out on this game. I can just hear it now:"And finally, we have the Bears at -30.5 over the 49ers. We'll take the points."
OB33
This is almost as bad as the Broncos being 15 point favorites against the Raiders despite averaging 12 points per game. #CHOMPCHOMPCHOMP
WJMorris3
Not as big as I would have expected, it's only 16 1/2.
Mac the Knife
The only real information that could be extrapolated from that stat is that the Bears are likely to score somewhere around 30 points should statistical averages hold. That said, 16.5 is probably a little high as far as a betting line goes; its probably inflated to get some 49'er action. Look for it to creep down in the days ahead should that happen. Remember - betting lines aren't an indication of how many points a team is expected to win by, but a device to help casinos and such get even amounts of action on a game, thus guaranteeing them profit. CC97
The only real information that could be extrapolated from that stat is that the Bears are likely to score somewhere around 30 points should statistical averages hold.Yes but remember the Bears offensive average would be all against defenses that are better than the 49ers, and the 49ers defensive average would be all against offences that are worse than the Bears. --- Chris Creamer Founder/Editor, SportsLogos.Net "The Mothership" • News • Facebook • X/Twitter • Instagram
whitedawg22
I know the Bears are averaging 30 points a game, but did any of you WATCH the Cardinals game? The Cards aren't a great defense by any stretch of the imagination, but the Bears on the field that day looked like they would have a hard time scoring 30 against the Little Sisters of the Poor.I think people have finally discovered the way to beat the Bears - blitz pressure up the middle with zones behind it. When he feels the heat, he tends to throw the ball up for grabs. It worked out pretty well for him in the first few weeks thanks to some great catches and dropped picks, but it can't be sustainable. oh ,my god ,i strong recommend you to have a visit on the website ,or if i'm the president ,i would have an barceque with the anthor of the articel . Fred T. Jane
<Deadspin Mode> THE BEARS ARE WHO THE 49ERS THINK THEY ARE! </Deadspin Mode> [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. IceCap
Chicago is going to kill them. They were more or less embarssed last Monday. Yes they won, but the fact that they let the Cardinals beat them up for three quarters has got to be embarassing. They will be out for blood.
