leedsunited
One year (not even near 50%) and already the Dolphins are giving in up and people are saying Culpepper is horrible. Have you ever heard of "taking your time or letting things fall in place"? I hope he succeeds to the fullest somewhere else because you can't hold a guy responsible for rushing him back into the starting job when he's coming back from the kind of injury he had.In today's NFL and with job security what it is, you don't have that luxury of "letting things fall into place".Frankly, the Dolphins screwed up by signing the guy in the first place. He really destroyed that knee of his, and with nothing else to fall back on besides his mobility and arm strength, his effectiveness as a QB was severely diminished. With the new regime in Miami, it's entirely within their right to go in a different direction. Cam Cameron didn't sign the guy.

Don't get me wrong. I'm a Kansas City Chiefs and full supporter on Green but he's 37. He doesn't have that long left and what gets me mad and what is seems like people aren't understanding is the Dolphins rushed him (Culpepper)back, messed up his rehabilitation process even more, and are basically taking high road out of this situation by cutting him or trading him. Where is the responsibility or liability for their actions.I don't know what is the rush for them to be good. They haven't been good in years. College sports as we know them are just about dead. The lid is off on all the corruption that taints just about every major program and every decision that the schools or the NCAA make is only about money, money, and more money. We'll have three 16+ team super-conferences sooner rather than later, killing much of the regional flair and traditional rivalries that make college sports unique and showing the door to any school that doesn't bring money to the table in the process. Pretty soon the smaller schools are going to have to consider forming their own sanctioning body to keep the true spirit of college sports alive because the NCAA will only get worse in it's excess from here
See Red
Not only did the Dolphins rush Culpepper back, but when it became obvious that he was no longer going to be a part of the direction in which the team was heading, they passed on a franchise QB in Brady Quinn for a special teams player that also plays a little bit of Wide Reciever. It's been mistake after mistake after mistake for the Dolphins at the QB position.
NJTank
The Dolphins are being run by a threesome of GMs. Its very frustrating and when you have a coach Nick Satan stab you in the back everything is thrown up in the air. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
gojetsgo
Winnipeg has him on their negotiation list. Could make for a few more season tickets being sold in the Great White North.Go Blue! lolHow is it even possible that the Bombers are negotiating with him? If he is under contract for $5M, than why would Miami let him play for the Bombers? I assume they'd rather he sat out than played in the CFL.Anyone know how that would work? otherwilds
Well the saga moves forward. The Dolphins are not going to let him out of the contract easily but I agree it's their own damn fault (even if Saban is gone now) for rushing him back too quickly. I do not think he will ever recover enough of his mobility to be effective nor regain the necessary confidence in his knee to overcome the injury. I do not think he can adapt to being a pure pocket QB (or has the skill set to pull it off) at this point in his career.NFLPA files grievance for Culpepper http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6916502MIAMI (AP) - Daunte Culpepper is getting help from the NFL Players Association in his quest to be released from the Miami Dolphins. The NFLPA filed a grievance Tuesday on Culpepper's behalf, with hopes that the matter can be resolved within a week, said Richard Berthelsen, the union's general counsel."They're breaching his contract by refusing to employ him or letting him go someplace else," Berthelsen said. The grievance is similar to one filed by the NFLPA last year against the Tennessee Titans after the team barred Steve McNair from working out at its facility. McNair was eventually traded to Baltimore for a fourth-round draft pick._____What the heck? Refusing to employ? They benched him and sent him home from ONE practice. He still has the opportunity to wear a headset and tote the clipboard on Sundays in a Dolphin uni.

All that he is doing is using the Dolphins' facilities to lift and run. I'd say that it's refusing to employ if they won't let him practice with the team. They right thing to do is release him, but if they're not willing to do that they should at least trade him.

I believe we also had Steve McNair on the list as well at one time.Basically, if things don't work out in the NFL, and a players wants to try the Canadian game to get back, or to eke out a living, whoever has him on their Neg List is the only team able to talk to him. If no deal can be done, the rights can be traded to another team for cash, another Neg Lister, FA, draft picks, etc etc etc. Welcome to DrunjFlix
