No, that team should never be considered in the same breath with the Browns. All Browns records reside in Cleveland, as they should. Gothamite
Agreed. The Ravens were an expansion franchise. Their expansion draft was just a limited regarding from which teams they could draw. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. powersurge
The Elf logo would be just as relevant to the current Browns franchise as the a Model T logo would be to the Ford Motor company right now. Its a great throwback logo, but not one that should be used in this millenium.I mean C'mon, when I see an elf I think of Christmas or cookies not football. Just because the clock passed the year 2000, the Brownie is now illegal and can't be used? I think a team can use whatever they wish for their identity. Wether it is something they just made up, or is a beloved icon from their past that has been neglected for the last 40+ years... Gothamite
Yeah, that doesn't make sense to me.You might as well say the same about the Yankees' Uncle Sam hat logo. QUOTE(Gothamite @ Thursday, September 20th, 2007 - 15:14:39) But, you might say, he took the entire roster to Baltimore! This is true, but not really material. The franchise stayed in Cleveland, but the organization moved to Baltimore. They are not necessarily the same thing. This is especially true in the minor leagues, where clubs do not actually own their players. When the Indianapolis Indians switched their affiliation from the Brewers to the Pirates, they lost all their players to the Nashville Sounds. Does that mean that the Sounds are the "real" Indians? What he said.
