fufkin
In the annual battle for the Fremont Cannon. The University of Nevada Reno defeated the University of Nevada Las Vegas in Reno. UNR, as the home team wore silver tops with blue pants while UNLV wore white tops with red pants. Seems a little confusing.
BBM
That is odd. Maybe there's more of a distinction in person?
illwauk
I remember ESPN Classic showing a UCLA-USC game from the late 80's where both teams wore their dark jerseys. Maybe they have a special exception for rivalry games?

Maybe they have a special exception for rivalry games?Yeah, but UCLA-USC had baby blue and maroon jerseys respectively (enough of a difference). UNLV-UNR had jerseys that were essentially the same color, just shaded differently.
PackerBadger
Vanderbilt (black and gold) and Tennessee (Creamsicle orange) used to do the same thing years ago. There was also a Purdue-Indiana game in West Lafayette back in the 80s where Purdue came out with gold jerseys and black pants vs. the Hoosiers' white.I'd think if I was UNLV, I would have worn the home red, particularly in UNR's stadium. FiddySicks
A bunch of friends of mine went to this game and they all said the distinction was a lot easier in person than it was on TV. erikstoll
A bunch of friends of mine went to this game and they all said the distinction was a lot easier in person than it was on TV.it was noticeable but still... from a distance, way hig up in the south end zone... it was a bit hard to tell at times
hawk36
Seems difficult to separate but, on the other hand, I like how you can actually do this in the NCAA versus the strict rules of the NFL. Design Hovie Studios
