Chicago Bulls concept

I understand that Chicago has had the same logo for what seems like ever and it has it's own sentimental meaning to Bulls fans but for the sake of design I wanted to try to modernize it. Here's my original concept...I'm sure I can improve upon it so I figured that you all would be the best for some C&C.

i think it has too many thin black lines and white highlights so close and touching througout the bull. lessed those and it would be better. i like the ears

I'd drop the white highlights in the face altogether. It makes it seem like the color is running or something, but either way it's odd. And yea, I'd try to make the red a little darker, only very slightly, and then you'll have something

Ok I fixed the Red and took out all of the highlights.

Here I fixed the Red and tried to make the highlights actually look like shadows by adding a darker red rather than the white in the previous version.

meh, too complicated imo...looks like a tribal art tattoo. and the wordmark is WAY too different from the illustrative style of the bull. and also, yeah i see this being accepted as a University of Buffalo logo or somethin...

Really cool. I like the eyes, ears, and horns. The logo needs to be simplified down to the basic elements. Cut down on all the little shadows and/or highlights. Really nice use of dynamic shapes to make the logo interesting.

I'd like to see this updated in the future.

The Bull has waaaay too many lines going on in there. Looks like it belongs on a hot sauce bottle.

Took some of the lines out of the middle...I think it lessens the busy-ness up a bit. Tomorrow I'm gunna try to work on the wordmark a little more so I'll update that when I get it for right now that's just kinda a place holder

I like your update a lot. I especially like the one with the darker red shading on the bull's head. My only thing is that the wordmark should be a tad different. Possibly a lot closer to the actual Bulls typeface. Once again, the logo looks great and I think is definitely an upgrade to a classic. But, the wordmark needs to be changed, as I can see you're working on now. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Not enough red in the word mark, ya gotta throw that back in there. I also don't think that secondary word mark works too well becausE of the fact that it's off-centered now.

I am most definitely not sold on the wordmarks. Maybe if this team were not actually the "Chicago Bulls", I might go with it. But, to me the wordmark needs to be a bit more traditional.
