Quidditch as a real-life sport

I "quid" you not... The Muggle version of the game has actually been around since 2005, but it is now apparently catching on nationwide. I guess all those Quidditch designs posted in the Concepts forum awhile back might now actually be usable.

I think it's kind of lame, but as long as it gets people out and active it really can't be the worst thing in the world.

I play Quidditch with my friends sometimes. I refereed our group's league last week.

It's so much fun.

LOL when I was a kid, I actually designed a couple sets of Quidditch robes for a multiverse pen-and=paper RPG I used to play with my friends and siblings. Lame? Incredibly lame, but it was fun back then.

I kinda wonder if I've still got those around somewhere- if I do, I'll actually put them on the computer and post them.

That said, 'real-life Quidditch' is hilarious, and I fail to understand how the bludger thing would work, but any activity is good activity these days.

I saw a bunch of hippy kids playing Quidditch on the College green here at OU a couple years ago. It was pretty hilarious, but I would never want to play any game where I have to hold a stick between my legs. That begs for chaffing.

A couple of years ago some other member of Marching Chiefs had a league but it died right before the season I was thinking about playing in.
