YELDARBfield
moving on the nashville predators...one thing i've always liked about the predators identity was the unique combination of bright shiny metallic silver and an almost egg-drop-soup color of yellow. with word that the predators are heading in the direction of navy and black, i wanted to come up with an alternative. i really like the uniqueness of the checkerboard pattern they're incorporated into their identity as well, so i decided to throw that in. hopefully without being too distracting.the home and roads are my own design, while the alternate is a nod to the original predators uniforms (again, without just being a straight throwback). This may be my favorite Preds concept ever. I love the way you have made them more "traditional" while limiting their color palette and maintaining their identity. The only negatives I have about this set are nit-picky ones. The wordmark under the collar doesn't look good, the colors on the home collar should be swapped, and...that's it. Fangtastic job, sir. Legend
The bolt over the state has been my favorite logo for the Bolts since their inception.Your concept is so amazing. It really is flawless IMO.Those jerseys would sell so much better than the crap they plan on peddling out next year. You really need to send those to the Lightning and let them know how much better people can make their jerseys without have to be paid millions.Great work. ColeJ
here's my take on the florida panthers... since this series is meant to put NHL teams in the uniforms that I think they should be wearing, not everything is going to stand out for its uniqueness. some teams either currently have it right, or had it right before the screwed it all up. the florida panthers fall in the latter category.i think the florida panthers (similar to the houston texans) hit it out of the park with their inaugural season's uniform set. the florida panthers used to wear uniforms that i'd classify as "modern classics," before resorting to connect-the-dots Reebok templating and then falling into the 2-tone blue trend that everyone seems to be jumping on.with that in mind, one of the most stunning hockey jerseys i've ever seen in person was the florida panthers white jersey from the mid 90's. photos and graphical representations don't do it justice. what stands out about the uniform is the metallic gold used in the panther's fur on the crest. it didn't even remotely clash with the sunflower yellow that's used on the rest of the uniform like you'd expect... that said, the stunning part was how the gold complemented the navy and red. i took that idea and ran with it, while drawing inspiration from the original striping pattern that guys like brian skrudland, scott mellanby, and stu barnes wore.i returned to red at home, white on the road, and navy as an alternate, and i killed the "breaking-stick" logo, becaue i find it ruins one of the most underrated logos in sports. i went with new shades of red, blue, and metallic gold that the panthers do not currently use. BrianVlietDesign
Good work on the Panthers. Its just, meh in my opinion. Such a hard team to make look good.I agree. As much as I'd rather see the Panthers return to their past, even those uniforms were not the most breath taking. But, nonetheless, these are still a decent set. ColeJ
Nice work on the Panthers. When you get around to doing the Sharks, how are you gonna handle their colors?i'd like to see a return to silver, since silver, teal, and black represent sharks hockey in my mind... not sure what that means for orange. i'm not opposed to them using it, but i'm not going to force it in there if it doesn't fit.we'll just have to wait and see. they're one of the teams i'm still working out in my head.problem with this series is that i've got a few (detroit, chicago, both new yorks, buffalo, etc) that i'd only make minimal tweaks too, which probably isn't the most exciting thing in the world to post for you guys... but i want to stay true to my vision.i'm almost finished with my new york rangers tweaks that are very noticeable, but really not earth shattering. after that, i'm not entirely sure what team i'm going to do next.atlanta is giving me a hard time too. i don't buy them as a columbia-blue team. ColeJ
i think atlanta should be primarily a maroon team, too... they're supposed to be brown thrashers anyway... i don't think a cool color scheme makes any sense.i'm pretty sure my thrashers concept is going to have a lot of maroon and copper. JackFr
The white on the third is unnecessary. Also did you modify the paint template? Because the colours seem to pop a lot more. My NHL Rebrand BlogCheck it out and comment.
ColeJ
The white on the third is unnecessary. Also did you modify the paint template? Because the colours seem to pop a lot more.not sure exactly what you mean... in some instances, i modified the template's stitching segments or panels... in every one i chose colors that were different than the standard template's colors... and before i shrink them down to 700 pixels to display, i change all the outlines to true black instead of the standard grey. hope that helps.just finished my New York Rangers concept, since I'm here posting...This is another that required only a few tweaks, rather than a complete redesign. The New York Rangers are an iconic team, so I didn't want to stray too much from what has worked for them in the past. I did however draw a ton of inspiration from their new navy/cream/red alternates. I think those just look fantastic. The first thing I did was changed the shades of blue and red to a darker more subdued and softer shade. I used the same shades of blue and red on the home, road, and alternate, since i hate when teams have royal home/roads and navy alternates. The home jersey has the familiar RANGERS wordmark, while the roads have the short-lived NEW YORK wordmark. The shield is the primary crest of the third jersey, which also uses cream instead of white.Nothing more to say here really, as this concept is pretty self explanatory. I hope you like it. Keep the feedback coming on all of these. Helps me improve as an artist, and makes me feel like i'm not wasting my time.
