Graysmith
Apologies if this has already been posted or if I'm posting it in the wrong section, but the Detroit Free Press did an article about the Detroit Tigers' D logo, and they also included a gallery of all the variations they've used (including some not shown on this site). charger77
The '72-'82 road logo is my favorite, it looks great on a cap. However for the sake of matching logos on the H & R the current set up is nice as well. winghaz
The graphic is great but the story is weak. I was hoping the writer would have put more history of the Old English D into the story.
CubsFanBudMan
I couldn't help but notice that the Tigers' cap D was everywhere at Comerica Park last night. It was painted behind the plate, and there were two printed on the padding that could be prominently seen from the main center-field camera. Any logic to that? Considering the jersey version of the old English D was made the primary a couple years back...
Gothamite
Don't know, but it's not uncommon for teams to put their cap logo all over the place. I wouldn't read anything more into it than that; this is just an unusual situation where the cap logo and primary logo are so very similar. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! tigerslionspistonshabs
Never quite understood the huge difference between the two. I prefer the cap. But pick one.
McCall
Each one looks the best on it's current application, so I see no need for them to ditch one. They're classic enough, like the Yankees, that it just works. It wouldn't if try were switching to it today, but that's not the case. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall

poser
Why would you think that? The white D is listed as present but the orange one is listed as 98-2011 instead of 98-present
Gothamite
Ah, good catch. I didn't see that.Maybe they're making a small change to it, like the LA Dodgers are with their sleeve logo? An outline, perhaps? The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
GFB
Ah, good catch. I didn't see that.Maybe they're making a small change to it, like the LA Dodgers are with their sleeve logo? An outline, perhaps? It's a little different than than the current logo, the one that says current is a little thinner and sharper than the orange one.
