I came up with this article for Bleacher Report. I've been thinking it'd be cool to see what Uniforms and Logos could look like the for the fictional NFL developmental league and if anyone would want to contribute. (Portland Platipi anyone?)

The breakdown:

Birmingham, AL - Magicians, Thunderbolts, Stallions

Charleston, SC - Swampfoxes, Man of War, Battery

Des Moines, IA - Barnstormers, Hawkeyes, Energy

Hartford, CT - Whalers, Colonials, Huskies

Las Vegas, NV - Cagefighters, Gamblers, Locomotives

Los Angeles, CA - Avengers, Fame, Sharks

Louisville, KY - Sluggers, Bourbons, Colonels

Montreal, QU - Alouettes, Canadiens, Blitz

Oklahoma City, OK - Wranglers, Oilers, Rebels

Omaha, NE - Cornhuskers, Nighthawks, Buffalos

Orlando, FL - Predators, Blazers, Tuskers

Portland, OR - Beavers, Ducks, Platipi

San Antonio, TX - Gunslingers, Riders, Steers

Staten Island, NY - Bulldogs, Yankees, Knights

Toronto, ON - Argonauts, Maple Leafs, Xtreme

Virginia Beach, VA - Destroyers, Governors, Piranhas

Can also come up with a team nickname of your own. I just wanna see if anyone is looking to contribute to this idea.

I really don't see why not? Maybe in his little "world," the AFL doesn't exist. Instead of the AFL, the players goes to the minors. Wouldn't the players rather play in a league that is affiliated with the NFL and play by their rules and etc etc?

One idea I had for a Charleston team is the Rebels in reference to the civil wars first shots at Fort Sumter. Just a thought though. You've got some pretty good suggestions for some teams yourself.

living in charleston this definitely makes sesnes.

If you're looking for people to claim and create concepts for teams (similar to the What if... NHL project), I will try my hand at the Man of War. Because jellyfish are awesome.

Oh... shoot. I just pulled the name of your list and such...

you could always come up with your own concept. I work for them, it could end up being used.

Virginia Beach, VA - Neptunes

As a 20+ year resident of the city of Virginia Beach that still regularly visits and considers it my true home, Neptunes may just be the best nickname for this city. They have the world famous King Neptune statue on the boardwalk. The annual Neptune Festival that brings people from all over the world. They have the musical group the Neptunes from there. Neptunes is and obvious choice. BUT if you don't want to go that route, I would stray away from Destroyers, I think Navy/military-ish team names for the area are played out. They fit but are exhausted, if that makes sense. I would go with Presidents over Governors, mainly because of the rich Presidential history of the state (eight Presidents were born in or resided in Virginia). Just food for thought.
