I think this is a huge story that's going underreported in the sports world. Why you make fun of me? I make concept for Auburn champions and you make fun of me. I cry tears.Chopping off the dicks of Filipino boys and embracing causes that promote bigotry =/= strong moral character.
Gothamite
Perhaps because boxing has very little social currency left. Still, good on him. Lots of little steps... The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
NJTank
Yeah this story is under reported because Boxing has vanished off the sports radar. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com

Lots of little steps...Yeah this story is under reported because Boxing has vanished off the sports radar.Agreed. If it was a UFC event I think the major media sources would be all over it.It was not "underreported". Saturday morning it was on CNN every hour. At the same time, FNC was doing it's business programming block on Saturday and was only doing :00 and :30 minute updates on major stories. The boxer also does not identify himself as an American. He identifies himself as Puerto Rican. That matters in how big this story is in the USA, even if he his bout was in Kissimmee (Orlando), FL on Friday night. The Orlando Sentinel was not even covering the card. They ran a commentary two days before the event.
Island_Style
Plus, it isn't so much that boxing is old hat. Being gay doesn't shock society anymore. Well, most of society. I think it shows acceptance.
Gothamite
I would love to agree, but think the first NFL or MLB player to come out during his career will be huge news. Something in a major sport, not a niche one. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
NJTank
At one time Boxing was bigger than football, its the fault of the sport it fell off.I think a gay player would be accepted for the most part by his team, it will be the fans who may be the problem. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
FiddySicks
I wanna make a joke about reverse gay bashing, but I'm afraid it would be taken the wrong way. Anyway, I don't see any correlation to athletics and sexual preference, so it should really be a non issue, but because for some crazy reason it still is, good for him. Gothamite
Should be a non-issue, but sadly that's not the world we live in. Hope we get there sooner rather than later (though we're now moving faster than I ever thought I'd see). The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
