It would be fantastic if fans and players were treated to something fun like a slick new set of alternate jerseys.

Yeah, no. That kind of attitude is what leads to the crap like that asymmetrical Notre Dame jersey. This is not about "fun." It's about representing your school's tradition.

I used to always want my Dawgs to branch out just a little with uniforms, but after seeing all of the crap that has been worn in the past few years, I kneel and pray my thanks each time they walk out in their beautiful digs.

And I'm not even religious.

Black jerseys...I'm fine with, but they won't happen this year.

Let's be honest, the alternates aren't about fun. They're about getting money for the athletic department that the players will never see a dime of.
