RevNet
Keron Williams proud of Grey Cup logo design, desires to stay with B.C. LionsUnderneath the football-hardened exterior of Keron Williams, there is an artist capable of creating something visually stunning that connects with those around him.Williams, an eight-year veteran defensive end in the Canadian Football League who has spent the past four seasons with the B.C. Lions, designed the 102nd Grey Cup Festival brand, the Roar on the Shore, which was unveiled at a press conference in downtown Vancouver on Wednesday. Jamie Pitblado, the general manager for the 2014 Grey Cup at BC Place Stadium, approached Williams with the idea of designing the brand last November, during Grey Cup week in Saskatchewan. Williams, whose background is in graphic design, began working on it in January. The finished product now revealed, Williams took to a podium set up in the Emerald Room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel and delivered an impassioned yet unprepared speech – no notes jotted down on a piece of paper or anything like that – about his creation. It’s youthful and has swagger, he said of the logo. http://metronews.ca/news/vancouver/939704/keron-williams-proud-of-grey-cup-logo-design-desires-to-stay-with-b-c-lions/ Here is the logo:
