It’d be great if he went to TB and won another title.

Darkhorse for Belichick: Philadelphia

there’s no way Howie / Lurie would ever hire someone with any clout and who might talk back, and there’s no way he’d ever want to work with someone like Howie.

Zero point zero chance.

Rooney Rule getting Ass Birds OC Brian Johnson an interview with the Panthers.  PLEEEEEEEEASE hire him so his leaving is a promotion and Hurts doesn't have to get upset that his homie was fired and literally thrown in the dumpster in the parking lot of the NovaCare Complex.

So there are rumors out there that Mike Tomlin is going to step down as Steelers coach and that Andy Reid is contemplating retirement.  I'm not sure I buy the rumors about Reid just yet (besides I don't think Chiefs fans want his successor to be Matt Nagy) or Tomlin either. They seem two of the least likely (even with terrible performances), while terrible performances this weekend could cost both Nick Siranni and Mike McCarthy their jobs.

This sounds like the McCaskeys and how they're still haunted by Mike Ditka, making sure every coach since is the opposite of Mike Ditka. So far, one out of seven wasn't an idiot who sucked.

While we're on coaching searches, the Snatit's candidate list is out:

I know three of those names. Dan Quinn seemed to do alright for most of his time as HC in Atlanta; he could probably do it again in Tennessee. Unless Tennessee can offer Antonio Pierce a better deal, I don't see him leaving the Raiders. (I could be wrong.) And it took me a minute to remember Aaron Glenn; he was a pretty decent defensive back for the Jets (and I think Cowboys?) back in the day. Interesting how both Lions coordinators are on this list, though.

I'll let fans of the other teams chime in on the rest of these guys. What say y'all?

Mike Kafka?  Did they not see the Giants offense?

Knowing what I know with Seattle, I get the feeling that they want Dan Quinn before anyone else. People still remember that he was the guy who built the Legion of Boom up here.  If not him, then I think Seattle needs to look for someone that can add some life to the team... but I don't know who can do that.

He did a good job having Richard Sherman, who went to Stanford.

Wasn't Dan Quinn a miserable failure as a head coach once already? or was that a different one?

Chip Kelly ruined everything, and they no longer trust anyone.  I think part of the interview process is for the candidate to stand up and remove his pants.  If even the smallest hint of testicles are found, he's disqualified - unless he's willing to cut them off and hand them to Howie for safe keeping.

Maybe they think it's another Kafka and he'll knock out a few existentialist novels rooted in absurdity and hopelessness.

More details emerge about Vrabel being fired.

In a nutshell: Vrabel became a control freak, and both he and Ms. Adams Strunk had communication issues, thus the toxicity.

Now, one detail in 👆🏾 that story was both telling and interesting: apparently, Ms. Adams Strunk thought about firing Vrabel after last season, but held onto him because she felt he was a great coach and, despite the communication and control issues, she wanted him to be their coach for "a long time". Wellp...

I mean....I'd love to see the Bucs get another Lombardi, but I don't know if Bill is the type of coach the Glazers want next.  IF Bowles is fired, they'll go with someone the polar opposite like they've done in the past since replacing Dungy.

That name sounds familiar...wasn't he a linebacker up there for the Patriots for a good little bit? Or am I thinking of someone else?

I thought it was obvious that I meant he'd be driven to do the exact same as Brady so as to reopen the question of who was more important.
