macalesterscots Posted February 20, 2014 Share Posted February 20, 2014 Alamo City SCArsenal AtlantaRoyal Charlotte As a guy that has lived in SA for most of his life, I kinda don't get this name.SA isn't usually reffered to as "Alamo City" like others like Chicago with "Windy City" or Portland with "Rose City". The Alamo is a rather single event that the city is known for. And in SA, there really isn't a lot of exciting stuff to replace it with. I would've gone with the SA Lone Stars, that's what I voted for, as that really signifies the Alamo theme the best, as it was a stand to help give Texas it's independence. Names and nitpicks aside, I'm looking forward to this project. I'm a huge football fan, and since I've signed up here I've seen some great football series. Yeah my entry was Alamo FC, partially because of the fact San Antonio isn't referred to as that and partially because I didn't want an overkill of "City" monikers. If I were ThePeam, I'd reserve those titles for a few select teams that get referred to by that name on a frequent basis. "Alamo City" just isn't associated enough with SA for me to be cool with it.
