Cincinnati Bengal concept - since the Browns didn't use gray...

Just an idea that popped into my head the other day when one of my students was wearing dark gray shorts and a bright orange tank top...

Except for the helmet, which is pretty much perfect, I tried to de-emphasize the "tiger costume" aspects of the uniform. On the jersey and pants, I tried to just suggest the idea of tiger stripes, instead of illustrating them.

As always... thoughts?

Awesome, change over to these now, from a Bengals fan. The currents set is so so bad. This reminds me of the OSU Cowboys, in a good way.

I would like to see a black alt and what orange numbers would looks like on the white jersey.

I tried the orange road numbers, but just didn't like it quite as well. The black had more weight and... presence (?) if that makes sense. I could try a black alt, but I'm also considering a gray one.

I am a huge fan of the addition of gray with this color scheme. It just looks sharp and adds another dimension. Black/Orange/White gets a bad rap for being Halloween colors. That tends to be the go-to jab when you're on an away game wearing those colors -- "I didn't realize today was Halloween" -- followed by a chortle and a high-5 to a bro.

Most OK State alums have hated the addition of gray in the uniforms (it's mostly been phased out) but I loved it. Some of my favorite combinations included gray. I really like when gray completely replaces the white, such as in a couple of these black/gray combinations.

(Sorry to litter your thread with pics, OSV. Just thought they were relevant.)

Gray compliments orange and black very well. My only real issues with this involve the silver. I think I'd either completely get rid of the silver, or emphasize it more. I'd like to see some silver on the away jersey if you decide to keep it. I think I'd attempt to make the white numbers on the home set that silver color (as well as the white in the logo) and just do away with white completely. I'd also make the silver part of the pant stripe one continuous width - possibly splitting the orange/black.

I like the de-emphasis of the tiger elements in the jersey and pants with it being such a focal point with the helmet. I think you did a nice job of tying it in without making it over-bearing like their current set. Overall, nice work.

Interesting that you'd zero in on that. I originally had a different idea on the numbers, one that would add in more silver to the design, but I chickened out at the last minute and went with something more plain.

Here was my original number font...

I actually like that. :)

I tend to go for sublimation -- my Jaguars concept in my signature has sublimated jaguar print on the shoulders. If I were doing this, I'd probably do something similar for Cinci.

One thing that always kind of bothered me about their current set (besides the awful white side panels) is how the stripes run in 3 different directions. The individual pieces look fine but I wish they were a little more cohesive as a unit.
