Brass
You said they'd be unvieled in April... As they will be introduced, Sunday April 17th vs the Devil Rays. Hmm...well...maybe your being perfectly honest here. After Puckguy's joke a few years ago, now scheme would be too elaborate though. No offense BB.Your probably not pulling a joke, but, eh, I'm just looking for a little fun and maybe to stir the pot...whatever that means... We'll will see April 17th if I'm lying or not. On 4/10/2017 at 3:05 PM, Rollins Man said: what the hell is ccslc?
tmorss9
A quote taken from the Red Sox message board on www.baseball-fever.com, referring to a segment on the NESN morning highlights and information show:There was a short piece about the issue on SportsDesk this morning, and Dr. Charles Steinberg (VP in charge of Public Affairs -- sometimes called the "Red Sox Choreographer") said that there are no changes planned for the uniforms this year, that there is a lengthy and stringent protocol MLB makes the teams follow for changes to their unis, and they'd have to start talking NOW about proposed changes for 2006. bosox
So that leaves this as not happening or a 2006 change.

tmorss9
Brass, All I'm saying is that they are publicly denying that this jersey exists. Would it surprise me that they're working on something, of course not. But if they're being on the level about this, then there isnt going to be a new one until at least next year. I hope youre right, though, because that would be a fine piece of work on your part by finding this. "Hats for bats. Keep bats warm. managerian
Major League Baseball is selling authentic red alternate jerseys on mlb.com. If the Sox were not going to wear those same red alternates that they have had for the past few years, I don't see why MLB would be selling them (esp at full price). tmorss9
Yep, the Sox official store on Yawkey Way still has the reds at $150... If they aren't here to stay for the year, then I'll be surprised.I know you have a date for the unveiling, Brass, but do you think its possible that what you saw is a jersey for next season, and the date attached to it is hearsay? Audiodrama
They told me that they would be unleashed on April 17th, 2005 at the game against the Devil Rays. They wore their white home uni's today. As most of us know, neither hat (nor their companion jersey) has been used in a while. RyanB06
The conventional wisdom on the two Sox message boards I frequent is that what Brass saw was actually the Opening Day ring ceremony jerseys with the gold outline on the lettering and numbers, like this one:They're now available for customizing, my #6 is ordered and on its way.... totc
Hey guys.Got wind today that on the jersey will be a totally new script! Not sure of the colours yet, but I'll keep ya'll posted. Totally new? Well, the Sox have changed their lettering by degrees over the years. If you get the Richard Ben Cramer book on baseball (with the silver cover), you can see some very interesting and subtle changes to the letters from the 40s to today. Look especially at the first publicity stills of Pumpsie Green, the Sox' first African-American player, and there are little curlicue flourishes in places on the outlines of the letters. Whoops. The book was by Daniel Okrent: The Ultimate Baseball Book. There is a photo of Pumpsie Green and to the left, former pitcher Ellis Kinder, on page 343. The lettering on the home whites is subtly different from each other. The S in SOX is a little more rounded in the pitcher's photo, and the little curlicues are a bit more pronounced. josh1068
Well, the Red Sox wore the red alts today versus Oakland. Same ones as last year, same ones as the year before. So now it's official. BrassBonanza...you were wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. Tell your sources they're all idiots. And stop wasting our time.

In fact, they admit it! And wasting time? HA! Is it "our" time as in you and mom? Or you and the members? No offense, but I think the board members would back me b4 you. Just my opinon though. DGivens87
I got your back brass....you tried to give us a "heads up" as to the possibility of something new for the Sox unis this year. I don't fault you for it, even though it never came to pass this year. I think 90% of us, even if we heard just a crazy rumor associated with unis would do the same. In fact, ALOT of us already do. So, don't hate on brass...he thought that something new was coming up for the Sox this year, and kudos to him for being nice enough for sharing the info, even if it turned out that it didn't happen this year.i still got brass's back...josh, my bad bro...didn't know it was tongue in cheek...if you ever come across me in real life, just tell me who you are, and feel free to just punch me in the face (just once)...however, this offer expires 12/31/2005. Only valid punches accepted, no slaps, kicks, or kicks to the mommy and daddy button will be accepted. No cash value. For official rules, send an SASE to...
