Even More Cheaply-Made NFL Replicas?

So I was shopping this past week and started to find full-priced NFL replicas ($80 is ridiculous for them so I've stopped buying them) but now they're even cheaper than they've been. They had Jet replicas now with the stripes printed on that only go maybe 1/4 of the way around the sleeve, basically just enough to cover the width of the TV number. Then it's all white. Same with the Steelers and Bengals jerseys that I saw.

What really pisses me off more than anything is that you're going to start seeing these on people left and right who would never in a million years even notice, which is why they'll keep trimming as much as they can while charging the same or higher prices to people who keep buying them.

Anyone else know what I'm talking about? I've got a "Before & After" (Revis = Before, Sanchez = After) to illustrate what I mean. Look at the sleeves:

The latter looks like the cheaper $30 version they'd sell at Wal-Mart or Target or something...

That's pretty bad, but if I recall correctly, they print the half stripe versions later in the season on blank, pre-made jerseys when they happen to need more. For example, I believe that Jets jersey normally has green fabric sleeves attached to a white body, which then have tv numbers printed on. The late season fill-ins start as blank whites and have everything printed on, and I'm not sure that it's possible to print the entire sleeve green, so that's what you end up with. Plus it would feel all stiff because of the ink coverage if the entire sleeve were inked up. Only makes sense for teams like the Jets or Bengals who have colored sleeves. Not really an excuse for teams like the Steelers or Browns. Probably cuts production time in half, though.

Yeah, I think they just pick a template that is as plain as possible (Raiders maybe, since it doesn't even have colored cuffs / collar) and just print on that. I guess that template has the seam there, and they can't print over the seam.

Late in the season, we see Eagles white jerseys all the time that don't have the black collar / cuffs, and I think it's because of this. YOu don't ever see green ones like this. I doubt you'll see green Jets jerseys like this, since there's not a pre-made stock of green jereseys for other teams just laying around.

They're selling these terrible Cowboys replicas at Walmarts in the Dallas area. It seems like the outnumber real replicas and authentics at Cowboys games now.

It doesn't look like it has TV numbers, so it might just be the normal "entry level" replica that Walmart*s, Boscov'ss, and other discount chains normally sell.

Yet another reason that I pray to God that Nike gets the NFL contract back. It's pretty bad that Nike provides way better quality uniforms to college teams than Reebok provides to NFL teams. Reebok's new "high tech" jerseys have multiple holes in them after one quarter. I don't understand how they haven't went bankrupt. Their stuff is garbage. Nike always made good quality fan apparel when they were involved with the NFL. All of Reebok's sideline gear looks like the cheap stuff you'd find at Walmart or K Mart.

Yes the Jet replicas do have the sleeves separated by non-dazzle fabric usually, where the stripes are. That explanation seems entirely plausible, but regardless it looks awful and I'm starting to see them everywhere and it pisses me off. I do want a Darelle Revis white replica but I'll wait for the spring to get it when they offer deals, and I wouldn't ever buy these "second edition" jerseys period.

Recently on eBay I found some "genius" selling an Apex Double Star Smith made by . . . Reebok!!! The dude even said it was game issued! And by the looks of it, the stars on the shoulders were cheap iron ons. Some people will stop at nothing to scam others.

I've actually seen these sold for a few years now. They're of better quality that you're standard Walmart/Target jersey (which have no mesh at all), but are slightly below the real replicas.

That actually looks a lot like what they sell at the Reebok outlet stores. Another tell-tale sign with the Reebok outlet store versions is that there is not NFL shield and the team's name is written under the front of the neck.

I see these a ton too. I hate when people at the outlet go ape-s :cursing::evil: t over them, but I do see that quite often.

I have seen those before. These are the lower-end replicas, they aren't the Wal-Mart brands, but they aren't as detailed as the 80 dollar replicas your used to seeing. They don't have the stripes on the sleeves go all the way around, there isn't a sewn on name plate, and they don't have the NFL Equipment shield around the neck.

Here is an auction for one of these lower end replicas:

http://cgi.ebay.com/CLEVELAND-BROWNS-BRAYLON-EDWARDS-MID-TIER-NFL-JERSEY-XL_W0QQitemZ200368587761QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_SM_Fan_Shop?hash=item2ea6e603f1

And here is one of the usual replicas you see:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-FOOTBALL-BRAYLON-EDWARDS-CLEVELAND-BROWNS-JERSEY-XL_W0QQitemZ160381711894QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_SM_Fan_Shop?hash=item25577eb616

Obviously in the second one, you see the sleeves have the stripes all the way around, it has the NFL Equipment shield at the neck, there is a sewn on name plate, and the tag at the bottom even looks different.

*Edit* I found better pictures to use.
