  1. Lost in the double city plan... Free agents who signed in Tampa probably factored in the lack of state income tax. Good luck telling them that they're suddenly going to be handed a hefty bill from the Canadian Revenue Agency every year.
  2. That's not a valid excuse. This is a team that has made the playoffs 50% of the time since 2008 and has two World Series berths in the most competitive division in the sport (and is on a three-year postseason streak). You can blame the location but you can't blame the team's success when they're being outdrawn constantly by the dregs of the league.
  3. Are my eyes deceiving me... or did Nike fix the Lakers gold finally?
  4. They'd need to expand their stadium by 5K and then average sellouts to even be able to qualify for FBS. They've historically not been able to sell out their 10K stadium the way it is and I don't know how many more seats Dan Hawkins is going to fill up.
  5. One thing has bugged me ever since they brought the Kachina look back as a throwback. Would it have killed them to put "ARIZONA" on the moon patch? The Coyotes script is specifically shaped to accommodate text and the void there really sticks out.
  6. I’ll be very happy to see BYU out of the WCC. Even with Gonzaga factored in their enrollment is 4 times the next highest school in the conference let alone throwing in the age advantage.
  7. So, we're officially witnessing the college athletics reenactment of the Partition of Poland.
  8. So, has anyone checked up on the Johnny Rockets general manager?
  9. The earliest that the Tempe arena will be ready from what I'm reading, based on site contamination issues, will be 2027 (and that's with the assumption that someone bites at Tempe's RFP and bankrolls the whole damn thing) . So, the Coyotes are supposed to play five seasons in a 60-year old arena that fits 1,500 less fans than Winnipeg, has no luxury boxes or modern amenities, and has a permanent leaky roof from some genius lighting a giant birthday candle on it, all while the team's already essentially bankrupt.
  10. Probably Manfred taking notes from the Raiders fiasco and preventing multiple years of lease-renewing lame duck status.
  11. I can confirm. My cousin went to Stanford for volleyball. The athletic department can't actually offer you a scholarship until you apply to the university and your application is accepted like any other student. It's actually amazing that the school has such a strong athletic program since not only do athletes have to be accepted by one of the most prestigious universities in the world but they have to bank on students holding off accepting other offers until the application process is finished.
  12. Not to mention that a return in Oakland was seen as a last grasp way back when the Fremont plan imploded.
  13. Much better guys. Now throw everything bone in a pit and never speak of it again.
  14. Chivas USA was also dealing with the discrimination lawsuits stemming from ownership firing anyone who didn't speak Spanish. That, and it's kind of hard to market to fans of a team known for only signing Mexican players by signing mostly non-Mexican players.
  15. That's a user option. We don't control it. https://boards.sportslogos.net/notifications/options/
  16. This is the same reason that the LA Coliseum was such a clusterf*** before USC took over from the "Coliseum Commission." Too many politicians with no management/architecture/finance experience think that their grand vision trumps everyone else's grand vision.
  17. Effective immediately, for security all CCSLC members will be required to login with their registered email address instead of the board username. Please ensure that your account is linked to your current email address as soon as possible. Additionally, please update your keychain/password manager.
  18. It seems to happen when people paste things from a site on dark mode.
