  1. Well let's hope she's into tattooed bartenders who look vaguely like a non-ginger Louis CK. Any other leads on the font?
  2. Apparently you get a ring for winning the Horizon League Tournament.
  3. yeah, that would've been more appropriate, but at least Iverson did wear the "classic" colors (though like you said, for inky a short time). And seeing as how he's probably the only player from the black and gold era wholl get his number retired, I'm actually ok with them using the red and blue to keep all their banners matching. He also wore the classic colors his rookie season when he had his most famous personal moment (breaking MJ's ankles). I'm fine with his permanent banner being red & blue, but the temporary patch probably could've been in black and gold.
  4. Awesome! But is there any chance we can see it with gold instead of white?
  5. Anyone know what font this is (or something close to it)?
  6. Looks like an LHF font. EDIT - Tonic LHF Nerve Thanks!
  7. Anyone know what font BAVARIA is?
  8. Learn some patience... the last thing we need is more disrespectful noobs messing up another great thread.
  9. I second this. Every logo you've done so far has been nothing short of amazing. Keep up the good work. Reposting this so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Amazing work!
  10. I think the fact that we're even debating Ohio State vs Okie State pretty much proves my point. Besides, basketball is, at best, the third sport that Ohio State is known for. At Oklahoma State, it's right up there with football.
  11. As a Milwaukee Admirals fan from their IHL days, an AWESOME Christmas present would be to see an updated version of this.
  12. I'm not sure what your definition of glorified mid-major is, but I definitely wouldn't classify Duke as one. They made it to three final fours in the 80s and four more before Coach K got there. They might not have been the Duke we know today, but they've always been a very good program. Plenty of schools that aren't thought of as major powers now have stretches of similar dominance in their history... peep the titles won by Loyola-Chicago and UTEP (Texas Western). At most, you could compare Duke of the 80s to Gonzaga of the late 90s and early 2000s. I'd call the Loyola and UTEP title seasons flukes, not dominance. Neither of those teams have even been to the Elite 8 besides their championship season. Gonzaga has never made a Final Four. Duke has four Final Fours pre-Coach K (seven pre-90s). They weren't UK, KU, UCLA back in the day, but they have always been a power. They were the 8th school to get to 1000 wins and that was in 1974. I've heard other people (not on here) say similar things about Duke before and it's simply not true. But maybe you assumed I wouldn't know this since Duke plays in a different conference than that of my precious, fart-sniffing institution. I still maintain that "traditional basketball power" implies at least one championship. There's no denying that that's what they've pretty much always been within the ACC, but how much would anyone really think of those 3 Final Four appearances had they fallen back to their pre-1980s levels of relative obscurity? I'm guessing not much more than anyone thinks of Loyola or UTEP's titles nowadays. I'm sure I'd have to look VERY hard to find an Illini fan who thinks college basketball may as well not even exist in Illinois outside of Champaign.

  14. Spot on... except fans of Big Ten schools don't want to even be bothered with the knowledge that college sports exist outside of their precious, fart-sniffing, institutions. Hockey is the lone exception, in my experience... UW fans seem to really want an in-state rival. But I'm not sure even that would apply to fans of, say, Minnesota or Michigan.
  15. Jesus. Do you also root for the villains in movies, and enjoy watching people from Walmart run small family-owned businesses out of existence too? Meh, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I have nothing against mid-majors and underdogs in general, but I do feel like something is wrong whenever the Dukes and UCLAs of basketball are not relevant during the season. Same goes for the Yankees in baseball, Celtics and Lakers for NBA, and USC and Texas in college football. Exactly, I like the fact that the best teams stay on top. I enjoy Texas, Alabama, USC, Ohio State, LSU, and other well known teams to be ranked in NCAAF. In NCAAB I like it when MSU, OSU, Syracuse, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, Arizona, and other well knowns do good. I dislike the "cinderella stories" in the tournament because they destroy what I like to see, old prestigious universities battling it out in March. You realize Duke was basically a glorified mid major until the 90s, right? And Ohio State is hardly a historic basketball power... unless you mean Oklahoma State.
  16. I waver back and forth between whether or not I'd want to see the Packers wear that. It's not because I feel like it would be the abomination that a lot of Packers fans probably would, but because I think GB's alternate uniform spot should be reserved for something from the Lambeau era.
  17. Hmm... not surprised this opinion would come from a guy with Ohio State in his avatar given what happened in last year's NCAA. Nice move, leaving Wichita State out of your examples, BTW.
  18. That's a nice logo as is. I might make the sweater yellow to match the school colors, but that was a good old school logo from the jump Holy crap, a Moser316 sighting! Anyway, that logo always looked more like an alley cat than a panther to me. This is my favorite vintage Panthers logo... it could sure use an update with the current jerseys.
  19. I love the color scheme (Dark Gray/Orange/Light Blue is a color scheme I've been wating to see happen) and the 1950s-style cartoon mechanic. That said, the "swinging mascot" trend needs to end (Immediately, Brandiose!), I'd dump the engine logo for a highway shield logo, and I'd at least tweak perhaps the hood-ornament logo. I might also consider changing the font for something actually used on highway shileds (or something very familar, spoilered for size): The font does look like the signage of a lot of historic Route 66 diners, though. I'll grant you that a highway sign-based mark/font could've worked with this package, but I'm not sure it's absolutely necessary. I'm glad they went a less expected route (no pun intended), but it could've been executed a lot better. SIDENOTE: I'm honestly surprised they didn't re-brand as the Route 66 Somethingorothers. Normally I'm not a fan of nondescript geographic names, but I kind of like the idea of a team representing the entire mother road.
  20. Yes, let's move a team that's struggling to draw fans an wedge them into a part of the country that's already served by 3 other teams.....
  21. Big downgrade from their old duds and their actual highway themed look. Honestly, I think the new package does the Route 66 theme better than the old one. There's plenty of roadside attractions with that style of artwork along what used to be the original Route 66.
  22. Always loved CBS' package from the early 80s. I believe the exact era this was used was from 1981 to 1985. Amazing that I still remember it even though I was in diapers for most of the time when it was used. FYI, it was this package that begat what is now an official NCAA logo.
