  1. Some sleeve stripes and this guy pulling his socks up (or pant legs down) would make a world of difference
  2. I know I’ve said this like 10000 times before but; lean into the plaid Ottawa!
  3. Gotcha! I’ve had zero problems like that and I switch between phone, work computer and, home computer. So I doubt there’s a limit.
  4. I'm guessing your username and password is saved as the log in but in June it changed to being email being needed instead of username. Just a guess.
  5. “ditto”. (haven’t used that word in years)
  6. I see where you are coming from for sure. Fair point.
  7. Just realized this wasn't posted in this thread: https://www.nll.com/news/saskatchewan-rush-acquired-by-the-priestner-sports-corporation/ Considering all the other moves since the NLL stopped play, this one really isn't much of a head-turner. The owner of the junior hockey team bought the lacrosse team that plays in the same arena. Makes sense to me.
  8. I'm in too but I'm one of those pesky people who have mismatching emails. PM sent with the info.
  9. I think this was a literal case of "one step at a time"
  10. Having lived in both Toronto and Hamilton (currently) and being a huge Rock fan; I can say this one seems extremely perplexing to me. there’s so much talk about fixing up Copps/ First Ontario Centre (or at least there was about a year ago IIRC) but nothing has come to pass. I love going to see the Bulldogs but that arena just isn’t up to snuff. This is a huge step backwards to me. While I agreed with what @Echo is saying in terms of capacity I think that it would still make sense to play at “coke”. I honestly wonder how much of it is The relationship between MLSE and the Rock (or, Jamie Dawick ((the Rock’s owner))). I recall a few years back there was talk of the Rock getting kicked out of the ACC because concerts made More money and it was kind of a year by year renewal at that time. Maybe the “coke” wasn’t even an option. I guess time will tell but I’m not optimistic about this move.
  11. The Beast only lasted as long as they did because the city gave them money to keep them from folding and they still sold 20% ownership (two 10% stakes at 1 million each) and it wasn't enough. As much as majority owner, Carey Kaplin, has said it wasn't because of money, I have to believe that is not 100% true. I lived in Brampton most of my life until moving about 4 years ago. I visit frequently as I play softball and curl there (you know, when you could do those things) and have many friends there. I went to many Battalion games over the years and went to maybe 6 Beast games over the years (including their first home game). The Battalion games, while usually half empty, always had more people than the Beast games. To @Dilbert's point there's just too many teams in the area. Hell, the Mississauga Steelheads arena is 10 mins up the road. The arena is out of the way as well. It's a cool sports park with a rugby field, a cricket field and, baseball diamonds in addition to the arena (which has 3 community rinks) but it's on a plot of land surrounded by 2 highways with no exits to/from them and there is 1 road in and out which caused big traffic issues when the arena was half full. When it was full, it was a nightmare to get out of there. It was a 5 minute drive from my house but if it was a busy game, it took 45 mins to get home. Add to that information that Brampton is a city with many immigrant people who come from countries where hockey isn't the most popular of sports (that isn't to say they can't or won't become hockey fans); I feel like Brampton just isn't a place where hockey will work.
  12. I'm gonna rant a little here, apologies in advance (and extra apologies to @_J_ who's already been subject to this)... I realize the new logo is gimmicky and maybe a little corny but you know what? It's fun. It's also a nod to the interesting history of the team and it's way more recognizable than the shield. The shield is/was a good logo but it is a little generic (maybe plain is a better word?). If you look at the CFL logos They are primarily letters on a simple backdrop (Edmonton, Saskatchewan, Ottawa and, Winnipeg...just Winnipeg is just a letter) or they are an animal (Calgary, Hamilton, BC...which also has letters). I guess Montreal is an animal too but it's kind of it's own thing so I didn't include it in the animals. That's not to say anything negative about the CFL logos, overall I think the league has more good than bad. This, although admittedly it features a letter, is something a little different from the rest. I like that. If the Atlantic team comes in, then I guess it won't be different from the rest of the league anymore but I'm not convinced that is going to happen (but that's topic for another day and thread). I donno. Maybe I'm just overthinking it but whatever, that's my little rant about why I like it.
  13. I think we did about the same time. all good. I'm sure the mods will merge it
  14. Fort Worth, Texas is getting an NLL team for the 2021-2022 season. The team announced today that their name is "Panther City Lacrosse Club". The logos were also released. I really like that secondary logo in the shape of the head of the stick.
  15. From the article on the mothership. I love it
  16. Agreed, It's just not as busy so it works much better. I've never disliked the shield and have great memories of those teams that wore the Jason logo but the football boat is so cool and unique. It's the way to go.
  17. I mean I'm not a mod but you (and I) have been around long enough to know that this topic always goes bad. 1 bad apple truly does spoil the bunch in these cases (granted, we usually find more than 1 bad apple). It's the whole "this is why we can't have nice things".....thing
  18. Good stuff all around! my only critique (nit pick?) is the collar on Edmonton's jersey. You gave it the "toilet bowl" treatment and that's a pet peeve of mine. Otherwise I think this is really good stuff and I like that you aren't afraid to try something new without completely disregarding the past. Also, solid call on bringing back the old CFL logo.
  19. Andlauer is being a dick IMO. theres 2 proposals out there to renovate the First Ontario Centre (and the concert hall/convention centre) without having Hamilton spend public money....or his for that matter. there’s literally no need to move the team. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5452506
  20. As I admitted, I was one of those people and I was wrong. BMO has proven that a field can (and has) been well maintained with the right equipment. The "just replace it" argument doesn't quiet work though. You can't just replace it overnight. It takes a few days, after laying the sod, for the grass' roots to grow and properly be rooted in the ground. Otherwise it just gets torn up easily. The turn around time just doesn't always work. Another point everyone seems to be forgetting is that it's important that the soccer field is in good shape because any deformations/imperfections will make the ball bounce or roll incorrectly where as with rugby, lacrosse and, football the ball is carried in hands/sticks or thrown. A few imperfections is not as damaging to the game. Not trying to get in a fight about it because, as I said, with the right equipment in place a stadium can manage it. That said it's not people just being winy bitches. (Yes, there are some people who are like that but as the saying goes "there's always one".) The majority of real fans aren't just yelling ":censored: every other sport only soccer!" they have a reason behind their concern. One more time, for the sake of clarification and to avoid having a bunch of "you're wrong! suck it up!" responses; I now stand on the side of the fence of "give the stadium a chance first" and I think that's what people should do but just saying people are entitled or "winy bitches" is dismissive and unfair.
  21. I was one of those guys. I was so scared the cleats used in football would destroy the grass. Admittedly, outside of some complaints during MLS Cup in 2016 (which was played within days of the Grey Cup), I haven't really heard any lingering stories about players complaining about the field quality. BMO has some of the best equipment in the world to manage the condition of the field and it has been a non-issue. I'm not sure if Audi Field has the same capabilities but I can't imagine that a brand new stadium (and one that the club has trying to get built for so long) would not be properly prepared.
