  1. SEC instituted a rule that they would not admit a school from a state of a current conference school. And actually, Louisville IS probably lined up to be one of the next Big 12 admissions. It was widely speculated that that's why they quickly dropped their objection to West Virginia being admitted over them, that the conference told them they were next in line and probably accepted in the coming years.
  2. But then who would you kick out of the West to accommodate LA? The Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers all have just as much history as the Chiefs do. LA to the NFC West, Rams to the AFC South.
  3. Miami's in the AFC East for historical purposes, much like Dallas being in the NFC East. And honestly KC would probably stay in the West for the same reason.
  4. On option A, why would you even consider having Colorado in a division with Miami and other eastern cities, yet put Kansas City in a west division? As far as I can tell option A shouldn't even be an option.
  5. Here's an MLB Realignment with expansion (I know they're far off from actual expansion, but this is just hypothetical) into Portland and Charlotte (I'm all for San Antonio as well, but wanted to do this one right now). Anyway, I have two different options. This first is fairly straightforward. Note: Portland would make sense to just stick in the AL, but I remember hearing during other times like with the Expos potential moves and other expansion discussions, that Seattle likes having the entire Pacific northwest market, and would rather not expand into it. But at the very least, they'd like to maintain being the only AL team there. And I feel Portland and Arizona are fairly interchangeable in this plan, so I'll just list them together as an either/or. National League West: Arizona/Portland, LA Dodgers, San Diego, San Francisco Central: St. Louis, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati, Milwaukee East: NY Mets, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington South: Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Tampa Bay American League West: Arizona/Portland, LA Angels, Oakland, Seattle Central: Chicago Sox, Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota "South": Colorado, Houston, Kansas City, Texas East: Baltimore, Boston, NY Yankees, Toronto (I put the AL South in quotations because, even though Colorado isn't really south, it basically becomes that division) Now, some may say Tampa Bay's success in staying in the area would probably stand a better chance if they continued to play the Yankees and Red Sox on a regular basis. I don't know if sharing a division with Miami would help or not, so I did another plan with the Rays remaining in the AL East. I shifted over a few teams and brought the Astros back into the NL. Now what was the AL "South" has become the Central, as I moved Minnesota over, and what was the AL Central has become the "North". So each league as a West, Central and East, and then the NL has a South and the AL a North. Here is plan 2. National League West: Arizona/Portland, LA Dodgers, San Diego, San Francisco Central: St. Louis, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati, Milwaukee South: Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Miami East: NY Mets, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington American League West: Arizona/Portland, LA Angels, Oakland, Seattle Central: Colorado, Kansas City, Minnesota, Texas North: Chicago Sox, Cleveland, Detroit, Toronto East: Baltimore, Boston, NY Yankees, Tampa Bay Now Houston is a bit west of the other NL South teams, but they're still only one time zone behind and a team's fans would rather see them play on TV and hour ahead, maybe at 6:00pm central, rather than 2 hours behind, starting at 9:00pm central, so it works out for the better, IMO.
  6. Yeah, that's what I've been saying since they first announced their intention to move somebody to the AL and go 15-15. The Astros had 51 seasons in the NL aswear the Diamondbacks and Rockies only had like 34 combined. Now I understand with the selling of the team, it created a prime oppurtunity and all, and it gives the Rangers someone nearby, but still, now both Texas teams are playing the majority of their division games two time zones behind. Why not even it out, each plays 3 teams in the Pacific TZ and one in the Mountain? And I always preferred switching Colorado because they're farther north which just seems to help bridge the gap a bit between Texas and Seattle. Be all-in-all, either Colorado or Arizona would've been fine.
  7. If they add a 16th school, it would not be UConn. They're only hope was if Rutgers was #15. UConn's academics are terrible, and to balance out the money grab angle, conferences actually do look at academics to some degree. And considering how often UConn could face postseason bans due to low scores, it's not worth the risk right now, because basketball is really their only plus.
  8. Thank you, Nostradamus. I was replying to an earlier post and didn't realize which page I was on in the thread. Someone was making a strong case for Buffalo, of all schools, to join the B1G next. I know what you were referring to. I was referring to the ridiculousness of said reference.
  9. Why the hell would Penn State leave the Big Ten for the MAC anyway?
  10. Don't know if this is the proper forum to ask about "font generating", but I've been wanting to get a font generator and most of the best are expensive, but I read a review of TypeTool (only $99) that rated it second behind FontLab ($649). Does anybody know if TypeTool (or maybe any) that would allow me to create a font in Illustrator (CS3) and if or how to transport them into the software to create it? Thanks.
  11. The last three times Buffalo has played a top 25 team in basketball they have kept it within 8 points. The football team isn't that bad, well now they are, but they were beasts in '08. I can see them possibly moving to the Big Ten in about ten years or so. And I'm pretty sure that they would rather play Ohio State in basketball/football rather than Eastern Michigan Is the Big Ten looking for member #30 at the time of this expansion? Because that's about where the Bulls lie on the expansion priority list. 30? Being a little kind there, aren't ya?
  12. I think the NHL is more on the side of contraction and going down to 28 teams, which would still allow for four even conferences, just of 7 rather than 8. Or if "contraction" just sounds bad, "merge" a couple teams (but include Quebec in the 28). Here's what I would "do" (a merger probably wouldn't go down): West: ANA, CLG, COL, EDM, LA, SJ, VAN Central: STL, CHI, DAL, DET, MIN, NSH, WIN North: BOS, BUF, MON, OTT, QUE, PIT, TOR East: CAR, NJ, NYI, NYR, PHI, TB, WSH (I basically just merged Phoenix, Columbus and Florida into Quebec) I'll figure out a schedule formula later.
  13. Same difference. And it was the same problem with yours.
  14. 3-team divisions in a 30 team league is too few. You probably need to go at least 5.
  15. Love the design, hate the bland, cliche color scheme. Those uniforms would look sharp in red, black, and yellow. That looks fantastic. Make the black the alt, with Atlanta on the reds, the aforementioned red trimmed in yellow numbers on the homes, and you'd have the next best thing to what they're wearing now. (except go back to the initial collar design)
  16. I, too, am not gonna bother checking back to see if this was posted or not, so sorry if it was. Danny Ainge, on the... Toronto Blue Jays? (Ok, most may know he did play baseball as well for a little while, but for those who didn't know... he did.)
  17. Ideally. Well the saying is "Only in the *** damn NHL", not "Only in the Intelligent NHL".
  18. With the Devils, they're in a good market, the team just spent too much. The Coyotes are in a bad (hockey) market and don't have the money to squander away, so they're screwing the city of Glendale into doing it for them. Devils stay, Coyotes go.
  19. No, they couldn't. What works in softball/little league, typically looks like crap in MLB. Uniforms on kids and girls does not usually look good on grown men. And no colored pants look would.
  20. The problem with the Mariners teal jersey is the silver script. It needs to be navy so something will match the navy crown of the cap. But the silver wordmark matches better with the silver S on the cap, cooridinating the cap and jersey much better than a navy wordmark would.
  21. Except Anaheim, Carolina, Tampa Bay and now Nashville are doing well financially, I believe. I'd say move Phoenix to Quebec and just contract the other 2, if anything. Phoenix is relocated because they have history (before Phoenix) and the other two are simply expansion teams within the last 20 years. 28 team's still allows 4 equal divisions of 7.
  22. He claims he has received a "highly-coveted" POTD, but there is a lot of speculation that it's actually a "teeny-bopper" ribbon. Those don't really count. "Teeny-bopper" ribbons are hard to keep track of but when the committee comes across one, it is immediately retracted. To my knowledge, loooooooooooooogooooooodude doesn't fly his POTD ribbon so there's no way to know if his ribbon is legit or not. The investigation is ongoing. Well the ribbons are produced in Maryland, and you know how those people are.
