  1. Let Jeter and Co. take the Marlins wherever and move the Rays personnel (Players, Ownership, FO, etc) to Miami to become the “new” Marlins. They at least have a well run organization and thus may be the only hope of saving baseball in Florida. And the league can’t abandon Miami altogether after finally getting a new stadium. This way the better of the two is playing in it and fans will finally have a reason to show up and watch.
  2. The Atlanta Braves play in Cobb County. The San Francisco 49ers play in Santa Clara. The New York Giants and Jets play in New Jersey, for crying out loud. The Los Angeles Angels may be the least "disingeuous" of any team who plays outside the city/state limits of the region they're named for.
  3. And you don't understand what the "Pointless" means. It doesn't mean random junk. It was because people thought realignment ideas in general were stupid, so they finally created a thread for us and called it pointless because they think the thread is. It's supposed to be for posting and discussing, while not likely to happen, somewhat reasonable realignment proposals It's laughable ideas like this that ruin this thread for the rest if us.
  4. Biloxi will never have a major sports team. Ever. But ditto with Fort Worth. Not a chance. North Texas is not a 2-team market. Why have the Jazz moved to Las Vegas yet the A's and Rays remain when they're in markets or situations of uncertainty and the Jazz are just fine where they're at? Did you really put any thought into any of this? And an NBA team in St. Louis, if that were to even happen, would use "St. Louis", not "Missouri".
  5. Newark? When you have two teams sharing a stadium like 15 miles away? And no way Milwaukee would ever be able to compete with the Packers for fans in Wisconsin.
  6. Since im in phone and don't see a "report" option, that Nabil guy hijacked about 3 old threads in the concepts forum to post his Cavaliers concept and link to his Behance page.
  7. Seriously? He was banned because of constant inappropriate commenting/behavior. They're not gonna just ban someone because they feel like it.
  8. Umm...Like Hendricks, Gibbs, roush, that's it and if he wants those he can go to jayski.comI know. The point is the irony of saying they don't really have logos, but do have team logos.
  9. I think if Virginia Tech and Virginia are able to split up (the state government has a mandate, law or whatever saying they can't unless both go to bigger conferences or something to that effect), Virginia Tech would go to the SEC. They're the bigger draw and the SEC is the better conference. It was a possibility a couple years back that the Big 10 may go after Virginia which would allow VaTech to go the SEC.
  10. Actually it was named pointless because a vast majority of people here were tired of realignment proposals flooding threads, so they finally created one for those of us who do like coming up with ideas. The "pointless" in the name is more in kind of a passive aggressive way because they think it's a stupid topic. It's not really meant to mean a thread to just throw out a bunch of random nonsense.
  11. Why did you put Mizzou in every name? Missouri-Columbia is the only school that uses it. And also, it's not much of an idea. Anybody can make a list of all the public schools in a state, nevermind that they're in various division levels.
  12. There is absolutely no logical rationale to your changes. Why is Colorado taken out of the PAC-12 in favor of Baylor? How does that make sense? Or why was Boston College removed from the ACC? Or Wyoming put in MAC when it's closest conference opponent is Northern Illinois? Every change you made was just random nonsense.
  13. A's have permission to move. http://m.espn.go.com/mlb/story?storyId=11173281
  14. How do you know that would've happened?
  15. Kings got a new arena deal. They aren't going anywhere. And the Clippers aren't dumb enough to leave the second largest market for a market that previously lasted less than 10 years. Those are just a couple glaring issues with this plan.
  16. Here's a couple more ideas, with 2 different sets of expansion teams. Expansion: Portland Beavers, Montreal Expos League Changes: Colorado to the AL, Houston back to the NL National League EAST: Atlanta, Cincinnati, Miami, Washington NORTH: Montreal, NY Mets, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh CENTRAL: St. Louis, Chicago Cubs, Houston, Milwaukee WEST: Arizona, LA Dodgers, San Diego, San Francisco American League EAST: Baltimore, Boston, NY Yankees, Tampa Bay NORTH: Chicago Sox, Cleveland, Detroit, Toronto CENTRAL: Colorado, Kansas City, Minnesota, Texas WEST: LA Angels, Oakland, Portland, Seattle ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And the second (or third) one: Expansion: Montreal Expos, Charlotte Knights League Changes: Colorado to the AL (Houston remains in the AL as well. This is the more minimal league change plan.) National League EAST: Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Washington NORTH: Montreal, NY Mets, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh CENTRAL: St. Louis, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati, Milwaukee WEST: Arizona, LA Dodgers, San Diego, San Francisco American League EAST: Baltimore, Boston, NY Yankees, Tampa Bay NORTH: Chicago Sox, Cleveland, Detroit, Toronto CENTRAL: Houston, Kansas City, Minnesota, Texas WEST: Colorado, LA Angels, Oakland, Seattle ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And one more that features 2 expansion teams (Portland and Montreal), yet no league changes, meaning Colorado stays in the NL and Houston in the AL, which have been the two teams I've been switching. And though I've never been big on Colorado in a division with St. Louis, Chicago and Milwaukee, it's basically the only way you can go to 4-team divisions in each league without switching any teams between the two leagues. National League EAST: Atlanta, Cincinnati, Miami, Washington NORTH: Montreal, NY Mets, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh CENTRAL: St. Louis, Chicago Cubs, Colorado, Milwaukee WEST: Arizona, LA Dodgers, San Diego, San Francisco American League EAST: Baltimore, Boston, NY Yankees, Tampa Bay NORTH: Chicago Sox, Cleveland, Detroit, Toronto CENTRAL: Houston, Kansas City, Minnesota, Texas WEST: LA Angels, Oakland, Seattle, Portland Scheduling and Playoffs remain the same as the post above.
  17. A lot of overcomplication going on so here's my 32-Team MLB: Expansion: Portland Beavers, Charlotte Knights League changes: Colorado to AL, Houston back to NL National League EAST: Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Miami NORTH: NY Mets, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington CENTRAL: St. Louis, Chicago Cubs, Houston, Milwaukee WEST: Arizona, LA Dodgers, San Diego, San Francisco American League EAST: Baltimore, Boston, NY Yankees, Tampa Bay NORTH: Chicago Sox, Cleveland, Detroit, Toronto CENTRAL: Colorado, Kansas City, Minnesota, Texas WEST: LA Angels, Oakland, Portland, Seattle Scheduling: - Division (vs 3 teams) 18 games/team = 54 games (3/3 home & away vs each team, 1 set in each part of the season; early, middle, late - 1 Same League Division (4 teams) 9/team = 36 games - Other 2 League Divisions (8 teams) 6/team = 48 games - Interleague: 6 games vs 1 Division, 3 home/3 away (4 teams) = 24 games (If it were up to me there'd probably be no interleague games or a minimal amount, but that's unlikely to ever happen) Any Interleague and non-division scheduling is on a rotation by year. Another Interleague option would be 3 games/team vs 2 divisions (8 teams total), so that they'd play 2 divisions one year, the other 2 the next, and then back around to a combination of 2 the year after, with the home game teams now away games and vice versa. Playoffs: Only division winners, seed 1-4 by record. 1st Round best-of-5, LCS and World Series best-of-7.
  18. This is way too complicated. They will never go by "Conferences" instead of "Leagues". Nor ever go by division names like Atlantic or Pacific or the cheesy-as-hell Metro.Go straight NL/AL with divisions East, West, Central/North/South.
  19. Fairly sure it's always been 13.Not to be snarky either, but how does someone who's been here less than a year know what's always been?
  20. My only thing is that it seems series' are getting preferenced over single concepts. I'm in no way taking away from those chosen because they are definitely some of the most deserving. But there are guys, like Buc and BrandMooreArt who put out awesome pieces of work, just not always in a series. I just hope they don't get overlooked.
  21. What's the point of swapping Louisville and South Carolina? Why would SC leave the SEC?
