  1. Going out on a huge limb here, but the Packers and Bucs are not good football teams. It's still early in the season but they both have problems everywhere. With the Cowboys, the defense is still ridiculously good; Dak looked a little rusty which was expected, but played better as the game went on. He had some plays that clearly showed the difference between him and Rush and what the Cowboys were missing these last 5 weeks. Tony Pollard is RB1 and the sooner the Cowboys realize that, the better the offense will be. Overall though, it was good to have Dak back and see the Cowboys play their most complete game of the season. I feel pretty comfortable in stating that the Cowboys are the 2nd best team in the conference.
  2. CHICHO!! What a game. Holy . These games seems to always be absolutely insane but please next time something a little less dramatic. My heart cannot handle it.
  3. So we have another playoff El Tráfico. Should LAFC win again? On paper, yes, but they’ve developed the earned reputation of being chokers in big games. This should team should be in the MLS Cup Final this year but I absolutely do not trust them to do so. Still, it’s been a fun and surprising season. Have zero complaints there. Wish I was going to the game tonight!
  4. I was surprised too that Dallas basically neutralized the rush game of the Eagles. That was a major concern because that's the one place Dallas' D can be exposed. But it was nice to see the defense still create so much havoc against such a good offensive line and offense. Ultimately what I was most afraid of in this game was the awful Cowboys offense making the mistakes they've been avoiding against a good defense like the Eagles. And that's exactly what happened. Once Dak comes back, I'm not expecting the Cowboys to all of the sudden have an elite offense, but with Rush the Cowboys have been a bottom 5 or even bottom 3 offense in the league. As long as the offense can be league average with Dak, this team can do some damage because of that defense. I must say I was impressed with Philly's play calling. Super creative and it helps Hurts out tremendously. Gives him a ton of easy throws and easy reads, which allows him to play to his strength's. That's the mark of a good offensive coordinator. And even though the Cowboys did a great job at stifling that offense for the most part, the Eagles still had a big boy drive at the end of the game to ice the game after Dallas came back. That was impressive. I think the Eagles will win 13 games pretty easily this year. I don't see how they lose more than 4 times this season.
  5. Surprised the Cowboys made a game out of it considering how awful Rush played. Hopefully tonight ends those absurd Rush > Dak takes we’ve been forced to listen to. Cowboys win that game easily with a healthy Dak tonight. This should have been a blowout with how bad Rush played. Got to look at the bright side, if you had told me when Dak went down that the Cowboys would have gone 4-1 with Cooper Rush at QB, I’d have taken that in a heartbeat. He’s done a good job at game managing but tonight showed his limitations. NFC is wide open. There really isn’t a great team in the conference this year. No clear front runner. Just a bunch of good teams and some awful teams at the bottom. Should make for a fun postseason. This is a year I could see a wild-card team making it to the Super Bowl. But honestly, this really is the Bills year to lose. They are clearly the best team in the league and it’s not close. If there was ever a time they were going to win a Super Bowl, it has to be this year.
  6. Such a lazy take. Do you only regurgitate tired and disproven takes from sports talking heads/internet memes? I’ve never seen a sports take or an argument from you that suggests otherwise. But to humor you, under the 47 games Dak has played in the last 4 years the Cowboys offense ranks 2nd in points, 1st in yards, 1st in passing yards, 2nd in completion percentage, 5th in interception percentage, 4th in passer rating, and 5th in point differential. Saying Dak is a garbage-time stat padder is an exemplary example of where someone’s football knowledge is. If people want to argue that Dak isn’t a top 10 QB, or not quite good enough to lead them to a deep postseason run, or needs to play better when his team needs him in the postseason, I’ll hear all of those arguments. Those are valid arguments and criticisms of Dak. Arguing that he’s a garbage time stat padder isn’t.
  7. This is why I find the Cooper Rush v. Dak conversation irritating. Cowboys have one of the league’s worst offenses this season under Rush, by nearly every meaningful metric. Every stat related to the QB passing and passing efficiency has Dallas near the bottom of the league. The Cowboys have had one of the league’s best offense when Dak is at the helm in the last 4 years (number 1 offense in the league the last two full seasons Dak played in 2019 and 2021). The only reason the Cowboys are winning right now is because of their defense and special teams. The Cowboys may not have an elite offense once Dak returns, but at minimum they’ll be league average or above average. Pair that with this absolutely insane, dominant and elite defense the Cowboys currently have, the Cowboys will be a tough team to beat. A tough out. Only the 49ers and Bills have a better defense IMO. I’ve also never seen a Cowboys’ defense this good in my lifetime. The 2003 team was the closest in terms of an elite defense carrying a bad offense for the Cowboys, but this defense is far better. This is a Super Bowl caliber defense. Micah is going to win DPOY, easily too. What a generational talent. He’s without question, the best Cowboys player in 30 years. Just need an offense that can just put a little bit of pressure on the opposing team.
  8. I miss the days when TNF was that special treat you got for a few weeks after thanksgiving and before Christmas.
  9. How did he get so bad? I don’t remember him ever playing this bad through 5 games.
  10. This is one of the worst game I’ve ever seen. Both of these teams should be contracted. Russell fleeced the Broncos. Or rather the Seahawks did.
  11. I don't know if it's mediocre, but it's wide open. No true dominant team, or clear front-runners. Just a bunch of teams in the mix. Kind of like last season now that I'm thinking about it. Whereas in the AFC it's clearly the Bills and the Chiefs, then everyone else. It's also way too early to say. This time last year, the best team in the league was Arizona. Two of the four teams who made the conference championship game were in last place in their division and only one of those 4 teams were leading their division in Week 5 (Cincy in a 3-way tie for 1st).
  12. As someone who was born and raised in LA, it was really funny to see the Clippers attempt this at the beginning, but I have to say it’s working. I recently moved back to LA for work after living elsewhere for a few years, and the amount of Clippers gear being worn, Clippers sponsored facilities for kids, or basketball courts remodeled by the Clippers I’ve seen is astounding. The difference from two years ago to now is something that I wouldn’t have believed. Obviously them trying to play into the “bad boy” image of LA is still funny, but their marketing is working really well. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next generation of kids in LA is a near equal split of Lakers to Clipper fans.
  13. Yes! Second Supporters Shield in our history. Remarkable achievement for only being our 5th season. I wasn’t too confident in the team based off of preseason and last season’s disappointing campaign, and then with the exceptional 2nd half of the season challenge from the Union coupled with the late summer struggles from LAFC, didn’t think we’d actually pull it off. Make no mistake, anything else than a MLS Cup will be a massive disappointment for this team. No excuses.
  14. It’s gross negligence on the Dolphins, NFL’s and NFLPA’s part that they allowed Tua to play today. Disgusting, honestly. We all know and understand that football is an inherently dangerous, violent game. Injuries and concussions are apart of the game, and they will unless something drastic changes, but to let Tua play today is inexcusable. It’s a true reflection of what really matters to the NFL, which is only the bottom dollar. A concussion like the one he suffered from today, only being 4 days removed from his last concussion, is highly likely to leave him with lifelong effects felt down the road and specifically CTE. He’ll be extremely lucky to not have any long-term effects from this. I really hope he’ll be okay.
  15. Sounds like they pulled Gio as a precaution since the World Cup is so close. But I’m also concerned about his injury proneness. Hopefully it’s something he can overcome. I think Turner has earned the right to start the World Cup at keeper, he’s our best pure shot stopper, but Gregg loves his favorites and so long as Steffan is in game-shape he’ll get the nod. I’m not thrilled about either for sure. I miss prime Tim Howard.
  16. Another massively uninspiring performance from the USMNT. It’s gotten to the point that it doesn’t matter who Berhalter plays at this point, the result is the same. Just poor. All of these really talented players, both from Europe and the MLS, simply cannot produce in this system. These players are in-form and producing for their clubs too. They seem unsure, unconfident and play with zero cohesion. He is coaching this team like it’s a club, instead of the national team. Trying to force players to fit into his system, rather than creating a system to fit his players. For the record, I know the results don’t matter in these friendlies, but how we played is what has me so concerned. It’s the same it has been all qualifying cycle and post WC-qualifiers.
  17. Didn’t get to watch the Cowboys game live, but after watching it later all I can say is that Micah is a top 3 non-QB in the league. Unbelievable. Single handedly ruined the Bengals day yesterday (I’m aware they have a poor OL). I know he’s uniquely versatile in that he can play multiple positions at a high level, but as a pass rusher he’s on another planet. I bet at this point offenses are relieved when he takes snaps as a non-pass rusher. He can shatter the singe season sack record if the Cowboys let him.
  18. I was already unbelievably apathetic about this upcoming Cowboys season, more so than I’ve ever been in my life, and tonight showed exactly why. This off-season the Cowboys made their team considerably worse (especially on offense) but what made it more baffling was that it was mostly self-inflicted. Tonight reflected that perfectly. A great defense doing the best it can, while being paired with an offense filled with JAG’s. It’s honestly hilarious too because after the playoff loss to the 49ers last year, Jerry was supposedly “so angry” and vowed to make it better. The Cowboys will never be serious contenders as long as Jerry and his family own the team. The team is now valued at $8bn, the highest valued sports franchise in the world, and continue to be the league’s most talked about team. That’s all they care about. Will add one more thought, Micah Parsons is the best player on the Cowboys and it’s not even close. Everyone knows he’s the best player and he still produced today. Shame he has to spend the prime of his career playing for a unserious franchise.
  19. Gotta say, it’s absolutely incredible to see a team managed by a former MLS manager (and career player), along with 3 MLS products playing key roles, win convincingly over Chelsea today. Imagine saying that 10 years ago.
  20. I’d agree with that, but as a Cowboys fan I still hate that the Cowboys have a non-throwback alternate at all.
  21. Westin McKinnie confirmed they are real, unfortunately. Definitely not the worst kits the US has ever had, but these are pretty bad. I vastly prefer our current kits over these.
  22. They’ve had an available DP slot since Rossi was transferred. I have to say too watching the two League’s Cup games in SoFi that stadium is going to be absolutely incredible for the World Cup. The atmosphere was really good. It should host the Final IMO.
  23. This would be one of the biggest downgrades we’ve seen. I hate the Galaxy, but they have a strong brand and crest. Changing it would be a mistake, but even more so to this. I hope this is simply an old concept that was leaked.
  24. I sometimes forget we’re old now. On topic, I really hope that the Cowboys’ white non-throwback helmet isn’t going to be worn ever, but I’m used to the Cowboys perennially (probably eternally) disappointing me and this is no exception.
  25. Even though I hate the Giants, I’ve maintained for a long time on these boards that this look is one of the best in the NFL and one of my personal favorites. The helmet is top 5 for me easily. Absolutely gorgeous uniform and fitting for a team as old as the Giants. The GIANTS helmet with those uniforms has always been the definition of a bland generic football uniform. I honestly feel like the only reason why people clamor for them is because of the nostalgia associated with it, not because it’s objectively a good, interesting uniform.
