  1. It is. The inside of the arena looks really strange as a result. There are barely any seats behind the benches, and the jumbotron is onthe wall:
  2. Does Chatham even have an arena that can handle OHL? That's the only roadblock I see here. But as Admiral said, how do you screw up hockey in Michigan?
  3. I see that those have the modern tags as well as A-Roid's and Rivera's numbers. Were the Yanks planning on selling those or something?
  4. I don't know of anywhere that doesn't make you wait until a whistle. And anywhere that doesn't do that, should.
  5. Can't tell if this is sarcasm or being serious. Welcome to Buffalo "If Hockey Season Were In July, It Would Probably Be Done Snowing By Then" Considering half the area is under a driving ban, the whole county is in a limited state of emergency, and the people that are even allowed to go out have to deal with closed roads/highways, it is what it is. Estimated about 6,200 in the building. For the record, that was sarcasm.
  6. Blizzard, schlizzard. The people of Buffalo clearly don't give a :censored: about their team and this is concrete evidence of that. They should be moved to somewhere else, perhaps Las Vegas, where they will most definitely be supported!
  7. Too bad only one out of those two uniforms were discontinued. You should see a doctor because your hate-boner for the Lightning's jerseys has lasted a lot longer than 4 hours. Seriously, this is like the third post you've made today expressing your dislike of their jerseys.
  8. Jesus. Neither of those are deserving of a suspension, and most definitely not 15 games.
  9. Welp, here goes: MLB Boston Red Sox: I was actually a Yankees fan for a few months, but then in 2009 I went to Boston for the first time and absolutely fell in love with the city. Everyone around the city was wearing Red Sox gear, and going past Fenway Park was also really cool to see. Long story short, the Red Sox really appealed to me and I jumped ship from the Yanks. Toronto Blue Jays: They were my original team, but I got frustrated with them around 2008 and I decided to be a douche and take on the Yankees as my favorite team. I actually came back when they unveiled their new look, because it's absolutely amazing, and they're my second team. I know it's weird to cheer for two teams in the same division, but neither team has been good at the same time so it's worked out. NHL Boston Bruins: I grew up a Leafs fan and after I saw them eliminated live by the Flyers in 2004 playoffs, I vowed to never cheer for them again. After the lockout, I then decided to make whatever team that drafted Crosby my new favorite team, which obviously turned out to be the Penguins. I supported them for a while but I simply lost interest in them. I started seriously supporting the Bruins in the 2011 playoffs, and they've stuck ever since. Columbus Blue Jackets: I started to take interest in them in the 2013 season when they narrowly missed the playoffs, and I was gunning HARD for them in their series against Pittsburgh last year. If I go to Ohio State next year, I'm sure I'll be going to some Jackets games and the Bruins and them will be my 1 and 1A team. Other Hockey Team Canada: Canada's my country, so obviously I'll cheer for them in international hockey Mississauga Steelheads: They're my local OHL team. Truth be told, I almost prefer OHL hockey to the NHL. I don't know why. Brampton Beast: My local now-ECHL team. I went to their home opener last Friday and I plan on going to more games. Jokerit: For as long as NHL has had international leagues, I've always enjoyed playing as them and their logo is awesome, so they've been my European (now KHL) team. NFL New England Patriots: I was cheering for them in the 2004 Super Bowl, and they've stuck since. Nothing else really to explain. NBA Boston Celtics: I don't follow NBA all too much but I made them my team just to round out the Boston 4. NCAA/CIS Michigan State Spartans: My uncle has his MBA from there and I have no connections to any other US colleges, so they've always been my go-to team in the NCAA. Ohio State Buckeyes: I'm really interested in going there next year, and seems more likely for me that I'll be going there instead of Michigan State. Obviously, they'll become my undisputed #1 if I get accepted there. Western Mustangs: They're my Canadian college team because my uncle got his undergrad from there (he was actually in the same major/class with Dan Shulman) and my girlfriend currently goes there. Soccer Italy National Team: My mom's entire family is Italian, so naturally I support them. Germany National Team: My dad's side has some German heritage, and they have an awesome team. Seeing them finally win the World Cup this year was especially awesome since they had always come up short at every recent World Cup/Euro. AC Milan: I first went to Italy in 2007, and they were fresh off their Champions League title, so I bought a Kaka jersey. They've been my Serie A team since. Arsenal FC: I used to be a Chelsea supporter in the EPL but Arsenal simply appealed more to me, and so I switched allegiances. I love their players, so that made the switch pretty easy. Now, they've gotten as far as nearly passing Milan as my #1 team in all of soccer. Bayern Munich: Their team is essentially Germany's national team, so they became my Bundesliga team. New York City FC: I've tried to get behind both Toronto FC and the New England Revolution at different points, but neither of which stuck. I think I'll get on board with NYCFC because I really want to get into MLS, and starting with a team from the beginnings seems like a good choice. My uncle, the one who influenced my choice of college teams, now lives there so that played a bit of a role in choosing them.
  10. We should totally have a CCSLC meet-up at a Panthers-Coyotes game. It wouldn't be too hard to find each other, we'd be the only ones there!
  11. Now they're just trying to bait you, give it a rest. You're a good poster and I like you, and I understand your frustrations, but this has been blown way out of proportion. Be the bigger man, and move on.
  12. Alright man, I think you need to cool down. If the mod who moved your post gives you an explanation, great. If not, just move on from it.
  13. Transparency is great, but so is common sense. The boards would be a hot mess if we stopped to give a play by play on every little bit of clean up we did.If you see one thread merged with another, similar, thread? You don't need us to explain why that happened. Yeah, I didn't really make my point very well. What I meant to say was for the mod who moved the post to include that tag that is included when a mod edits a post, which says who it was edited by. That way, VictoriaGooner could PM that mod to clear things up, instead of having to take things here.
  14. I know this situation hits close to home for you and it does for me as well, considering I have several family members who served in the military. Though if I were a mod, I also probably would've merged that into the already existing thread. However, whatever mod that moved it should have left a note saying it was moved, because transparency is a good thing.
  15. I've said this before, but the Brewers should use those wordmarks in the current colors, with the barrel man on the sleeve.
  16. I agree. They may look like a love-child of the Leafs and Wings, but at least they actually look god, something that can't be said about any of their previous looks. Though, I wish they still had the victory stripes on the underarms and the Florida state outline on the shoulder patch.
  17. Saskatoon has a snowball's chance in hell for the NHL. Though I wouldn't mind seeing them get an AHL team. They'd be a better market than Thunder Bay for a Jets affiliate. They'd even work pretty well for Calgary or Edmonton.
  18. One of my referee supervisors is a ref in the CHL, and he told me that it's looking like that they will be absorbed by the ECHL this year. He's not entirely sure how many officials that the ECHL will take from the CHL (probably not many) so he fears that his job is in jeopardy. As a fellow ref, I feel for those guys so hopefully they'll find gigs elsewhere.
  19. For the sake of avoiding realignment, I figure Florida goes to Quebec and Arizona to Seattle.
  20. A true merger is, but not one in which the CHL is simply a division that gets a couple seats at the ECHL playoff table.Yeah, if it were to happen this year, the CHL teams would just become their own division and then realign in the offseason to coincide with the AHL Western division switcheroo.
  21. I feel that Rapid City would be best fit for juniors. They're kinda just a lame duck in the minors with no team really being a good fit for an affiliation, even for AA. Besides, they could make a decent in-state rivalry with Sioux Falls in the USHL.
  22. I decided to try my hand at fixing the minor leagues in hockey. I decided to bring back the old IHL, who will have the affiliates of the NHL's Western Conference teams while the AHL will have the Eastern Conference's affiliates. This alleviates most of the long distances that teams have from their affiliates, especially for teams in the Western Conference. Note, this realignment includes a 32 team NHL with the Seattle Metros and Quebec Nordiques as expansion franchises. AHL Atlantic Division St. John’s Ice Caps (Quebec Nordiques) Fredericton Canadiens (Montreal Canadiens) Providence Bruins (Boston Bruins) Hartford Wolf Pack (New York Rangers) Bridgeport Sound Tigers (New York Islanders) Albany Devils (New Jersey Devils) Syracuse Crunch (Ottawa Senators) Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres) Central Division Wilkes Barre-Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins) Hershey Bears (Philadelphia Flyers) Hamilton Dukes (Toronto Maple Leafs) Cleveland Barons (Columbus Blue Jackets) Norfolk Admirals (Washington Capitals) Charlotte Checkers (Carolina Hurricanes) Orlando Solar Bears (Tampa Bay Lightning) Florida Everblades (Florida Panthers) IHL Midwest Division Grand Rapids Griffins (Detroit Red Wings) Fort Wayne Komets (Nashville Predators) Chicago Wolves (Chicago Blackhawks) Milwaukee Admirals (Winnipeg Jets) Iowa Wild (Minnesota Wild) Kansas City Blues (St. Louis Blues) Tulsa Oilers (Edmonton Oilers) Texas Stars (Dallas Stars) West Division Alaska Aces (Seattle Metros) Abbotsford Canucks (Vancouver Canucks) Saskatoon Blades (Calgary Flames) Colorado Eagles (Colorado Avalanche) Utah Grizzlies (Phoenix Coyotes) Stockton Thunder (San Jose Sharks) Ontario Reign (Los Angeles Kings) San Diego Gulls (Anaheim Ducks) It's not perfect, but it makes more sense than what they have now.
  23. Aren't they merging with the ECHL next year? I mean, the 2 teams they'll have left?
