  1. I just looked the 2022 USFL season. The league wide regular season finish was also 40-40. 50%(4) of teams finished above .500 with no less than 6 wins. 9-1 (2) & 6-4 (2). Disregard The North is doing worse this year than last. While at least one team will likely be above .500 at season’s end, production level has seemed to drop. EDIT: I guess the only overall regular season records don’t matter and are a moot point
  2. Decided to look at regular season records to compare USFL and XFL- The XFL collectively finished 40-40 (.500) and 20-20 (.500) through 5 weeks. The USFL now through 5 weeks is sitting at 20-20 (.500) Disregard The best regular season team in the XFL was the DC Defenders (9-1, 5-0 WK5), while the best team currently in the USFL is the New Orleans Breakers (4-1) 50% of the XFL finished over .500. Of those teams, none were below 7 wins. By Week 5, 62% were over .500 with at least 3 wins. Currently, 62% of USFL teams are below .500. This includes the entire North Division at 2-3 each.
  3. Dallas Arlington needs a complete redesign of the uniforms. Here’s a quick mock up-
  4. I’m wondering if we’ll see Washington pull a Jets and mix in their black uniform elements with the regular color and white uniforms. I could see them going white/black/burgundy and swapping the regular burgundy facemask for the black.
  5. The nameless team is off to an impressive 1-13 start. I can’t wait for the excuse of moving to Hagerstown being for “poor performance and a fresh start”
  6. The “CLE” gives off a samoan tattoo vibe. It’s a pretty bad logo overall. At least the other designs put the team first.
  7. I’m not saying you should, but with how your logo is colored, it may be a good candidate for reintroducing a jaguars gradient style helmet. Anyways, fantastic work as always on these last few teams. I really dig the aqua helmet for Miami more than I should. The introduction of steel blue(?) into Detroit is a chef kiss.
  8. Well, the XFL Championship end zones are generic lifeless trash
  9. The more I think about it, the more I like WSH instead of WAS for Washington.
  10. Sometimes money is thicker than blood.
  11. We’re definitely getting all red vs all white and it’s going to look horrendous.
  12. I live in the DC Metro area. The former name isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. There will be relics. • There are fans who clearly don’t give a about the transition and still say the slur. • There are fans who at least make a noble attempt at transitioning from former to new, but remain apprehensive. • There are fans who embrace the name fully. Having “Red-“ in the name will cause slip ups and like you said, it’s really not up to the team itself to police, but they wouldn’t exactly be helping the cause either. With having “Commanders”, while still fresh, it wouldn’t cause as many slips in the years to come as something with “Red-“. Believe me, I could understand if they did choose Redwhatever this past offseason, like many wanted because it seemed like the most natural transition. Doing it now though? I don’t know about that. Why a half-assed revert? Because the hardheaded few don’t want rain on their parade? Again, I fully understand where you’re coming from. I just believe it’s in the best interest of the team to make as full and as clean of a break from the previous name as possible.
  13. Location vs nickname is irrelevant given the circumstances behind the latter’s change. You can call them the San Diego Chargers all day long because it’s simply a location debate. What you shouldn’t be doing is calling Washington their former name. Slip ups are bound to happen. I’m not saying they won’t. What I am saying is, you give an inch and they’ll take it a mile. Ditto.
  14. Anything “Red-“ would be a back door into formerly-known-as territory. Redhawks Redhogs Redyellowgreenlights They’d intentionally be risking a Freudian avalanche of the former name. It’s a “Well, close enough. Might as well just..” situation.
  15. Seeing this thread get Commandeered with discourse surrounding the name coupled with the team’s metro-inspired schedule teaser graphic, it reignited my desire for a Metro-centric nickname. Something like… the Metropolitans really rolls off the tongue and would be unique to the sports world.
  16. Anything “Red-“ is a cop out point blank. That’s where it needs to end.
  17. “bUt TrAdiTiOn” or whatever
  18. I’m still on the 32s hype train
  19. Huh? It’s a map of the United States.
  20. Really love this graphic for the Commanders 2023 schedule-
